IIMC Entrance Exam 2023 Application Form, Eligibility, Exam Date, Syllabus & Pattern

IIMC Entrance Exam will be commended for admissions for under post-graduate diploma in journalism in seven different languages including English. IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication) commences its entrance exam for providing training, education, and research in the field such as mass communication. The admission after this national level examination will be proffered in the institution and affiliated campuses. This prestigious exam is conducted by IIMC every year. The exam-related information like application form, exam date, eligibility criteria, etc is available at the official website.

IIMC Entrance Exam Application Form:

  • Candidates can fill the application through online and offline mode.
  • Candidates can submit the application form once for journalism in any of the languages-Hindi or English.
  • Candidates can collect the application form in the month of March.
  • Candidate needs to purchase separate applications for every course.
  • Make sure to use only a black ink pen to fill the offline application form.
  • Ensure to paste or affix a recent passport-size photo on the application form.
  • Every candidate needs to fill the application form carefully. The form which is not incomplete or not filled appropriately will be canceled.

Application Fee:

  • Candidates belonging to the general category will pay Rs 1500/- and the reserved category will pay Rs 1000/-
  • You can pay for applications offline and online, dependent on your convenience.
  • Online fees can be paid through credit cards, debit card and net banking.
  • Those who pay offline will pay via DD in favor of ‘IIMC, New Delhi’.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The NRI applicants are not required to go through a written examination.
  • NRI/NRIs sponsored candidates who will wish to apply for both non-NRI & NRI category needs to submit the separate application form for each category.
  • Those who are born on or after 1st August 1995 or later are eligible to apply for IIMC 2023.
  • There will be an age relaxation of 3 years to those belonging to OBC candidates.
  • There will be an age relaxation of 5 years to reserved category candidates or physically challenged candidates.
  • Candidate must possess the degree of graduation in any discipline from the recognized board/university.
  • Those who are appearing for an undergraduate degree can also apply for the exam.

Exam Pattern:

  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode.
  • The exam duration will be for 120 minutes.
  • The questions will be descriptive type.
  • The candidate will give an exam in the medium that he/she has chosen.

IIMC Syllabus:

The IIMC 2023 Syllabus of the examination will vary as per the subjects that the candidate has chosen. The common topics are inclusive of language skills, sensitivity to social issues, ethics & values, Analytical & comprehension skills, brand awareness & recall, social consciousness, lateral thinking capabilities, general awareness about development & public issues.

Exam Center States:

IIMC 2023 written examination will be commenced in the following states of India: Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Aizawal (Mizoram), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Bhopal (MP), Chennai, New Delhi, Guwahati (Assam), Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kerala, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Maharashtra, Dehradun. The entrance exam of Journalism (Odisha) will be held at Mumbai & Amravati.

Admit Card:

Admit card for IIMC will be issued by IIMC only. Candidates will collect admit card via online mode. Most probably, it will be issued in the month of May. The candidate is required to carry the admit card at the exam centre. It comprises information such as exam date, time, venue, roll number and lots more.

IIMC Entrance Exam Merit List:

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of scores attained in the written test. A merit list will be created for every course.

IIMC Result:

The exam result will be declared via online mode. The result will be announced in the month of July. The candidate’s roll number will appear on the result whosoever will clear the examination. The result will be declared post the written exam. The result will be declared for each course separately.

Counselling:

Candidates who are offered admission in any of the campuses in IIMC based on the rank achieved. The exam conducting authority will send call letters to those candidates who are shortlisted for Interview and Group Discussion rounds. Those who successfully clear the IIMC examination will be able to appear in counselling round. Based on the results, the candidate will be allotted with seats. Reach the allotted campus for the last round with the original documents.
