Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria to seek admission in MGU CAT 2023:

  • To take admission in MSc (Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Biophysics/Microbiology), the candidate must have acquired a BSc degree with at least 50% aggregate in the final year
  • To take admission in MSc in Chemistry, the applicant must have done BSc in Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as Subsidiaries with at least 50% aggregate in the final year
  • For seeking admission to MSc in Computer Science, the candidate must have done BSc in CS/CA/BSc IT/BCA with at least 50% aggregate in the final year
  • MSc in Psychology can be done, if the candidate has done BSc in Physics with Mathematics as one of the subsidiaries with at least 50% aggregate in the final year
  • Candidate can take admission in MSc in Environment Science & Management, BSc in relevant subjects or BTech in Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental with at least 50% aggregate in the final year is done.
  • The applicant can acquire admission in MSc in Environment Science and Disaster Management if the candidate has attained a BSc degree in any subject with at least 50% aggregate.
  • Candidate can acquire admission in MA (Politics & International Relations/Politics & Human Rights/Public Policy & Governance), if graduation is done with 50% aggregate in the final year or BSc in any branch with at least 60% aggregate in the final year
  • Applicant must acquire admission to MA Economics if BA/BSc in Economics/Mathematics/Statistics with 45% aggregate acquired.
  • MA in Malayalam is possible to do if the applicant has done BA in Malayalam with at least 45% aggregate or degree in Arts/Science with at least 50% aggregate in the second year Malayalam
  • Candidate must have done MA in English, the applicant must have successfully completed BA in English with at least 45% aggregate or degree in Arts/Science with at least 50% aggregate
  • To do MA (Gandhian Studies/Development Studies), the candidate must be a graduate with at least 45% aggregate
  • The candidate may apply for MA (History and Anthropology), if the applicant has successfully completed graduation in Social Sciences with at least 45% aggregate
  • To apply for Master of Tourism and Travel Management, the candidate must have acquired with the degree of graduation with a minimum 50% aggregate
  • To apply for M.Ed (English/Hindi/Malayalam/Sanskrit/Arabic/Mathematics/Science/Social Science/Commerce/Computer Education, the minimum eligibility is 45% aggregate in B.Ed.
  • A candidate is eligible to do LLM if LLB or equivalent is done with a minimum 50% aggregate

  • The application form is available via the official website. Applicants are required to register using a valid email id and contact number. Fill all the details carefully and correctly. Upload the required documents. It is crucial to submit the duly filled application form before the deadline.
  • Candidates are required to choose the group of examinations while filling the application form according to the choice. Students are required to enter the details like personal details, qualification details, and contact details while filling the application form.
  • Get done with the payment using online mode such as Credit Card/Debit Card.
  • Candidates are applicable to apply for 4 courses based on their eligibility; however, at the end after selected, candidates will be permitted to select one.
  • The application process will be finished by the mid of April month.

Admit Card:

After successfully submitting the application fee, acquire the admit card from the official website. The admit card consisted of the details such as the candidate’s name, Exam centre, Date and Exam Venue. It is compulsory to acquire an admit card from the official website and take its printout to the exam venue. Also carry a photo ID proof along with the print of the admit card to the exam centre.

Steps to Download Admit Card:

  • Go to the official website of MGU CAT 2023.
  • Click on ‘Admit Card’
  • Provide the information such as registration number, name, date of birth, and other details
  • Take a copy of the Admit Card and save it for future references.

Exam Centers:

Candidates can choose the examination center while filling the application form. From the chosen examination centers, only one exam centre will be assigned. Check the list of exam centers mentioned below:

Exam Pattern:

Following are the important points related to the examination center:

  • Exam will be conducted in offline mode.
  • Paper will be comprised of objective and descriptive type questions.
  • Paper will be consisted of one and a half hours time duration.
  • Paper will be of 200 marks.
  • The candidate will receive 4 marks for a correct answer
  • There is no space for negative marking.
  • Paper will be consisted of 80 questions

MGU CAT Exam Syllabus:

The Paper will be consisted of 2 sections – objective and descriptive type questions. Following is the syllabus for examination:

  • MSc Chemistry: Syllabus of BSc Chemistry
  • MSc Physics: Syllabus of BSc Physics and Mathematics:
  • MSc Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biophysics: Syllabus will appear from subjects such as Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry and Physics at BSc level.
  • MSc Environment Science and Management: Syllabus will be based from Basic Sciences at degree level, General Aptitude and General Awareness on Environmental Sciences
  • MSc Environment Science and Disaster Management: Syllabus is based on subjects of basic sciences at degree level, General Aptitude and General Awareness on Environmental Sciences
  • MSc Disability Studies and Rehabilitation Sciences: Syllabus will consist of questions in an interdisciplinary manner based on the syllabus of the qualifying exam
  • For MSc Psychology entrance test questions will appear in an interdisciplinary manner based on the syllabus of the qualifying examination
  • To apply for MSc Computer Science, Questions from Computer Science, Logical Reasoning and Numeral Ability will appear.

Result:

The exam result will be declared on the official website in the month of May.  Candidates are required to enter the Enrollment Number and Date of Birth to check the examination result.

  3. Enter roll number, the application number, and date of birth in the space provided.
  4. Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  5. Download the result and take a print out.

Counselling:

Those who have qualified for the examination may appear for the counseling process after the result declaration. Documents will be verified on the basis of the merit list and admissions will be provided in the course. Submit the following original documents during the time of counselling:

  • Mark list of the qualified degree examination
  • Migration certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • Income certificate
