NEST 2023: NEST stands for National Entrance Screening Test which is a national-leveled examination. This examination commenced for seeking admission to the five years integrated M.Sc course. This course is available at NISER or National Institute of Science Education and Research and UM-DAE CEBS or University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai. Application Fee Info: The application fee for male candidates from categories such as General/OBC costs Rs.1200. Process to Apply for the NEST 2023 Exam:

  • First of all, go to the Official Website.
  • Then click the link to the Application Form.
  • Register yourself by entering the important details.
  • After getting done with the basic details, catch the email regarding the confirmation of the registration in the registration emailing address.
  • Click on the link for confirmation of the registration.
  • Then login to the registered email address as well as password.
  • You will come across the application form of NEST.
  • Fill all the important details such as personal info, the choice for the exam center, and academic details.
  • After filling the details, click Save and then proceed to the next page.
  • Make sure for keeping the application number safe for further use.
  • Do not forget to upload the scanned photo as well as a signature in JPEG format.
  • The size of the scanned images should not be more than 100 KB each.

NEST Eligibility Criteria:

  • Those who are born on or after 1 August 2003 can apply for NEST 2023 but on the condition, that candidate must be from category General and OBC
  • There is an age relaxation of 5 years for PwD/SC/ST/ category candidates
  • Candidate must have passed class 12th from any recognized board examination in the year 2020-21
  • The candidate is required to have passed the above examination with Science stream consisting of subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology in classes 11th and 12th
  • The minimum marks obtained in the examination must be 60%. However, the percentage will be 55% for those belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in the 12th examination or the equivalent examination
  • Those who are appearing can also apply for the exam

Exam Pattern:

  • NEST 2023 examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT/online exam.
  • The question paper consisted of overall 200 marks.
  • The question paper will appear in the English language only.
  • The question paper will be based on Objective Types.
  • The duration of the examination will be for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  • There will be 4 different sections in the question paper. Each section consisted of 50 marks carrying for 30 marks.
  • Each subject section contains 17 questions, out of which 12 questions are of single correct answer MCQs, and the remaining 5 questions are of multiple correct answer MCQs.
  • There will be negative markings for choosing incorrect answers in single correct answer MCQs. One will earn 2.5 marks for each correct answer, -1 for each wrong answer, and 0 marks for unattempted questions

Syllabus:

It is essential to have all the details of the syllabus so that apt preparation can be made. Read the below info carefully: There is no fixed syllabus for the General section. The syllabus is based on the NCERT and CBSE pattern from classes 11th as well as 12th class. Questions are framed for testing the candidate’s knowledge in Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Computer Science, and Environment. Some other questions are also designed for Maths up to the level of 10th standard

NEST 2023 Admit Card:

The availability of the admit card will be made in April. Download the admit card from the official website. Carry admit card along with you at the exam venue. Carry a photo ID as well.

NEST Result 2023:

The announcement of the result of NEST is made via online mode. There will be the preparation of the separate merit list by the exam conducting authority. Make sure for seeking the printout with you till the admission process gets over

Counseling:

The process of counseling is done via offline mode. It is crucial for filling the important details to seek admission to the programmes such as M.Sc offered via NISER and UM-DAE CEBS. Move to the counseling venue on time mentioned. Make sure for carrying original documents while moving for counseling
