NFSU Admission 2023: NFSU or National Forensic Sciences University is a state university situated in Gandhinagar, Gujrat. It was founded in 2008. The university offers education via three institutes – Institute of Forensic Sciences, Institute of Behavioural Sciences, and Institute of Research & Development. The courses include a variety of regular and online courses through these institutes. The online courses are the certificate courses provided by the Institute of Forensic Sciences whereas the other two institutes offer regular courses. Some of the courses are M.Sc., MS, Integrated MS, M.Phil, Ph.D., PG Diploma and MBA programmes. In addition to these, M.Tech in various specializations, Post Basic Diploma, Professional Diploma and M.Pharm programmes also proffered by the university. M.Sc Admission:

NFSU proffers M.Sc. in several categories. The three institutes under GFSU offer various Master of Science programmes. Here is the specialization, eligibility criteria, etc:

M.Sc. Institute of Forensic Science:

  • Forensic Science: Applicant must be possessed with the degree of graduation in Science/ Forensic Science/ Medicine/Engg/ Pharmacy with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST category).
  • Digital Forensics & Information Security: To apply for this course, an entrant must have completed B.E./B.Tech in CE/IT/EC/CS or BCA or B.Sc. IT/CS/Maths/Physics or equivalent with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST category candidates)
  • Homeland Security & Anti-Terrorism: For this course, the candidate must be possessed with the degree of graduation in Science/Engg/Medicine/Pharmacy or equivalent from some recognized university with at least 55% marks.
  • Forensic Odontology: If you are interested to apply for this course, then you must have done graduation in Dental Surgery with 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) from an Institution recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI)

Note: It is mandatory for applicants to clear the competitive entrance examination commenced by the University.

Institute of Research & Development Food Technology:

  • Food Technology: To do this course, the candidate must be a graduate in any discipline (Science/Chemical/Pharmacy/ Medicine) with at least 50% marks
  • Medical Devices: Candidate must be possessed with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline of Science (except Mathematics & Statistics), Medicine, & Engineering with a minimum of 55% marks.

Institute of Behavioural Science:

  • Neurotechnology: Candidate must have completed Engg Graduate, Postgraduate in Electronics, Computer Science, etc.
  • Forensic Psychology: To apply for this course, the candidate must have completed B.A./B.Sc. in Psychology/Science subjects from some recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST category)
  • Neuro Entrepreneurship: The minimum qualification is graduation in Psychology, HRD, Commerce, Social Sciences.
  • Clinical Psychology: For this course, the applicant must have done graduation in Psychology, Education, HRD, Science subjects.
  • Neuropsychology: Applicant must have done B.A./B.Sc. in Psychology/Science subjects from the recognised university with at least 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST)

Note: Admission is on percentage attained in graduation and interview scores.

Once the counseling session gets over, the applicant will appear for an interview conducted by the university. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit.

MBA Admission:

  • MBA Finance offers a specialisation in Forensic Accounting. To apply for this programme, the applicant must have completed graduation with at least 55% marks. For admission to this course, the candidate must have cleared the entrance test commenced by the university and after qualifying for the test, the applicant will appear for an interview. On the basis of scores achieved, the university will choose the eligible candidate for the seat.

Admission for Online Courses:

The online course by NFSU considered certificate courses for the duration of 6 months. Check the eligibility criteria for admission in online courses:

Note: The minimum eligibility is graduation in any stream

  1. Diploma in Cyber Crime Investigation
  2. Diploma in Computer Forensics
  3. Diploma in Cyber Security

Note: The courses are only for Police Personnel Only

Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit. Selected applicants will appear for an interview. The candidates finally approved will fulfill the admission process as per the requirements of the institute.

PG Diploma Admission:

PG Diploma courses comprise of one-year duration. The programme is provided by the Institute of Forensic Sciences and the Institute of Behavioural Sciences. Here is the eligibility criteria and other details:

PG Diploma Institute of Forensic Sciences:

  1. Forensic Document Examination
  2. Fingerprint Science
  3. Forensic Management
  4. Fingerprint Science

For the above four courses, the candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline of Science/Forensic Science/ Medicine/ Engg/ Pharmacy with a minimum of 50% marks. Applicants must clear the entrance test commenced by the University.

  1. Forensic Accounting: Applicant must be a graduate in any discipline with basic knowledge of Accountancy and competency in Computer Applications.

PG Diploma Institute of Behavioural Sciences:

  1. Forensic Psychology: Candidate must have completed M.A. /M.Sc. in Psychology or M.Psy in Clinical Psychology from some recognised University. Admission will be based on graduation percentage and interview scores.
  2. Child Forensic Psychology: Candidate must have done M.A. /M.Sc. in Psychology with 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST)

Note: For the above-mentioned two courses, the percentage in graduation and scores in interviews will be considered.

MS Admission:

  • Forensic Pharmacy: To do MS in Forensic Pharmacy, the minimum qualification is B.Pharm with minimum 55% marks. Preference will be given to GATE/GPAT qualified candidates.
  • Forensic Nanotechnology: Candidate must be a graduate in Science/ Medicine/ Pharmacy/ Engg with minimum 55% marks.
  • Chemistry: B.Sc. in Chemistry with 55% marks is the minimum qualification
  • Environmental Science: Applicant must have done graduation in Science (except Mathematics & Statistics), Medicine, Pharmacy, Environmental/ B.E. Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engg with minimum 55% marks.
  • Environmental Management: Candidate must have completed graduation in Science (except Mathematics & Statistics), Medicine, Pharmacy, Environmental/ B.E. Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engg with at least 55% marks.
  • Forensic Pharmacy for In-Service Personnel: Candidate must have completed B.Pharm. with minimum 55% marks and have 8 years of Government Services in the Food and Drugs department and/ or Industrial Experience. Ensure to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer along with the application form.

Integrated MS:

  • MS PhD Forensic Pharmacy (dual degree) – Applicant must hold the degree of B.Pharm with a minimum of 60% marks. Preference is given to GATE/GPAT qualified candidates.
  • MS PhD Forensic Nanotechnology (dual degree) requires a graduation degree in Science/ Medicine/ Pharmacy/ Engg with minimum 60% marks.
  • MS Environmental Management & MS Environmental Science: Candidate must be possessed with the degree of graduation in Science (except Mathematics & Statistics), Medicine, Pharmacy, Environmental/ B.E. Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engg with at least 55% marks.

M.Phil & Ph.D Admission:

Check the eligibility criteria for admission in M.Phil & Ph.D given below:

  • M.Phil in Forensic Psychology: Candidate must have completed M.A. /M.Sc. in Psychology with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST category applicants)
  • M.Phil in Clinical Psychology: It is mandatory to have completed M.A. /M.Sc. in Psychology with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST), with a special Paper in Clinical Psychology.

Note: Applicant must have clear the Entrance Exam conducted by the University.

  • Ph.D. – The candidate must be possessed with the Master’s degree/ Equivalent in a related field from some recognised University.

NFSU Admission 2023 Application Process:

If you are an eligible candidate then apply for the desired course. Here is the application procedure:

  • First go to the NFSU official website
  • Now, click on the concerned Institute of the programme you are applying for.
  • Choose the ‘Admissions’ option and download the application form.
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 1200/- as a Demand Draft, drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, payable at Gandhinagar.
  • Submit the filled-in application form with DD and necessary enclosures.
  • The required documents include School Leaving Certificate, Final year Mark Sheet, Migration Certificate, etc.
