TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2023: TNUSRB SI or Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board commences the examination for sub-inspector of police posts (Taluk, Armed Reserve, and Tamil Nadu Special Police). TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Age Criteria:

  • Applicant’s age should be between 20 and 28 years.
  • Upper age limit for BC (Backward Class), BC (M), (Backward Class [Muslim]), MBC (Most Backward Class)/ DNC (De-notified Community) till 30 years
  • Upper age limit for Departmental candidates appearing for departmental quota examination up to 45 years
  • The upper age limit for SC (Scheduled Castes), SC(A) (Scheduled Castes Arunthathiyar), ST (Scheduled Tribes) up to 33 years
  • Upper age limit for Ex-servicemen/Ex-personnel of Central Para-military Forces is up to 45 years

NOTE: Applicants appearing as open quota comes under 20-28 years of age.

Educational Qualification:

Free Online Tuition for Class 6th Maths:

  • Applicant must have done graduation from UGC/Government recognized University in 10+2+3/4/5 pattern or 10+3+2 pattern for Diploma courses.
  • Candidates must have studied Tamil as a subject in classes X and XII. ON the contrary, if the applicant has not studied Tamil as a subject during X/XII/Degree, the person must clear the Tamil Part-II Test commenced by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within 2 years of joining the service.

Note: Candidates with graduation via Open Universities devoid of 10+2+3 pattern is not eligible.

Here are the details about the selection process:

TNUSRB SI selection process consisted of several stages. Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in all the stages.

  • Written Test: For Quota open applicants, there will be Objective Type Questions for 70 marks and 85 marks objective type questions for departmental quota candidates,
  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT)/Endurance Test (ET)/Physical Efficiency test (PET) – PMT and ET are qualifying examinations. PET consisted of 15 marks. Departmental applicants are not required to appear for PMT and PET. Endurance Test has to be qualifying in nature. Ex-servicemen, EX-CPMF and Serving persons, retiring within a year, are exempted from PMT.
  • Viva-voce/Interview: This is for 10 marks both for open and departmental quota
  • Special Marks: Applicants holding NCC/NSS/Sports certificates will receive extra 5 marks.

Exam Pattern:

Here is the examination pattern of TNUSRB SI Recruitment 2023:

Written Exam: The written test commences to examine the theoretical knowledge of the applicants according to the syllabus, find the details of the written exam mentioned below:

Written Examination for Open quota candidates (70 marks)

This section is divided into two parts – Part A and Part B

  • Part A will be consisted of 80 questions for 40 marks and each question is for ½ mark
  • Part B will be consisted of 60 questions for 30 marks and each question is for ½ mark
  • The candidate will get two and a half hours
  • Minimum qualifying marks will be for 25

Written Examination for Departmental quota (20%) candidates (85 marks)

  • This part is divided in two parts – Part A and Part B
  • Part A consisted of 30 questions and each question carries ½ marks. However, Part B, consisted of 140 questions, each question carries ½ mark
  • Total marks for Part B is 70
  • The applicant will get 3 hours to complete the exam.

Physical Measurement Test:

This test is for open quota candidates only, however, departmental quota candidates are exempted of this stage. The height and circumference of the chest were measured for this test and this test is qualifying in nature. Here are the parameters of the Physical Measurement Test (PET):

Height Measurement (in cms):

  • OC, BC, BC(M) MBC/DNC – Male: 170; Female/Transgender: 159
  • SC, SC (A), ST – Male: 167; Female/Transgender: 157

Chest Measurement (in cms for Male candidates)

  • Normal: 81
  • Expanded Condition: 81 to 86

Endurance Test (ET):

Those who qualify PET Test will appear for the Endurance test. Check the details below:

  • Men – 1500 meters run in 7 minutes
  • Women/Transgender – 400 metres run in 2 minutes 30 seconds
  • Ex-servicemen/Ex-personnel of Central Para-Military Forces/serving persons who are going to retire within one year – 1500 meters run in 8 minutes

Certificate Verification:

If open quota candidates successfully clear the Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Departmental candidates, those who have cleared Endurance Test will appear for certificate verification by TNUSRB. Applicants are required to bring original certificates along with them for verification.

Interview/Viva:

This stage is consisted of 10 marks. Open quota applicants will appear for Interview/Viva-vose. Those who clear Endurance Test will be called for Viva-voce

Special Marks for NCC/NSS/SPORTS/GAMES:

Those who hold certificates in NCC/NSS/SPORTS/GAMES will be provided with 5 extra marks during viva-voce.

Provisional Select List:

Provisional selection list will be released after completing all the stages such as Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Viva-Voce etc gets over.

Admit Card:
