BHU SET 2023 Application Form, Exam Date, Admission, Admit Card

BHU SET 2023: Banaras Hindu University aims at selecting girls and boys for Central Hindu Girl’s School and Central Hindu Boys’ School respectively. BHU provides admission to classes VI, IX and XI while admission to classes LKG, Nursery, and Class 1 is based on the E-lottery. Read this article to know the new admission procedure, form last date, Result, etc. SET stands for School Entrance Test conducted by BHU. BHU SET 2023 Application Form:

Those who are interested to apply need to fill the application form using online mode. Fill in all the details in the application form carefully and submit it before the last date. Download the application form and fill in personal as well as prior educational details. It is equally important to submit the application fee along with the application form.

Application Fee:

Free Online Tuition for Class 6th Maths:

Pay the application fee via different modes such as credit card/ debit card/ Internet Banking/UPI or challan mode in any HDFC Bank branch. It is important to note that the application fee is non-refundable. Check the category wise application fee:

  • General category – Rs. 600/-
  • SC/ST category – Rs 300/-

Eligibility Requirements:

BHU follows certain eligibility criteria and the details about the same are as follows:

  • To acquire admission in class VI, the child’s age should be 10 – 12 years ago as of September 30, 2023, and passed class V from a recognized school.
  • To seek admission in class IX, the child’s age should be between 13-15 years as of September 30, 2023, and passed class VIII from the recognized school.
  • To attain admission in class XI, the candidate’s maximum age should be 18 years as of September 30, 2023, and passed class X from a recognized Board/University. The percentage attained in class X should be as follows:

For external applicants (coming via SET)

  • The percentage should be 60% or more than 60% in aggregate for admission in the Science stream
  • Above 60% marks or equal grade in aggregate for admission in Science Stream. More than 50% marks or equivalent grade in each Science and Mathematics for admission to Science group.
  • More than 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate for commerce stream.
  • Class X should be cleared for the Arts stream (According to the KVS norms).

In addition to the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, a candidate (excluding SC/ST/OH) can seek admission to the above classes if he/she has obtained 33% in the School Entrance Test. The same criteria follow for sons and daughters of the BHU employees and candidates from the SC/ST/Physically Challenged (OH) category on attaining 25% in aggregate.

Admit Card:

After submitting the application form successfully, the admit card will be released online. The admit card will be sent on the candidate’s email ID. Furthermore, the notification about the admit card will be sent via email ID. It is suggested to carry the admit card to the examination center on the day of the examination. Use the portal www.bhuonline.in to obtain the admit card with the help of a unique code allotted to them at the time of online application form submission.

  • The paper will have Objective/Multiple Choice Questions in paper
  • Exam will be commenced in the offline mode.
  • There will be 100 questions on the paper.
  • The exam time duration is 2 hours
  • Use either Ball Pen of any blue or black color

Syllabus:

Those who are appearing for BHU SET 2023 need to check the syllabus given below:

  • Class VI: The question paper will consist of questions from subjects of class V such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science and General Science. The Paper will have 100 MCQs.
  • Class IX: The paper will be from class VIII from subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science, and General Science. Overall there will be 100 MCQs.
  • For class XI: The test question paper will be from subjects studied in class X. Overall there will be 100 MCQs.
  • Maths Group: English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Studies.
  • Biology Group: English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Studies.
  • Commerce & Arts Group: English, Hindi, History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, General Maths, and General Studies.

Answer Key:

Once BHU SET 2023 paper will get over, the answer keys will be released on the official website. Candidates can seek access to the answer key and if they want to raise an objection against any answer they can do so within the given time period. The result will be prepared on the basis of the final answer key.

Selection Process:

Note the important information about the selection process:

  • The admission of BHU employee’s ward candidates will be first sent to the Central Hindu Girls School for class LKG.
  • In the first Lot, 3% seats will be allotted for (Differently Abled Children)
  • The waiting list for each lot will be prepared separately

Exam Result:

The result will be declared after the release of the answer key. The merit list will be released on the test portal. Candidates will appear for counseling as per the marks and cut-offs.

Counselling Details:

After the result declaration, candidates will appear for counseling process. Go to the official website to collect all details about the counseling round. Carry all the original as well as self-attested documents to the counseling center. Along with the documents, carry the following documents:

  • Admit card of the entrance exam
  • Date of Birth Certificate
  • Previous School Leaving Certificate
  • Category Certificate
