IIM Shillong Admission 2023 Application Form, Selection Process, Eligibility

IIM Shillong Admission 2023 is based on CAT scores. Overseas applicants may apply via CAT or GMAT scores. The admission process for its flagship PGP course commences in two-phase. Phase 1 comprises of shortlisting of the candidates based on CAT scores for group discussion and personal interview. Phase 2 comprises of final merit list for admission based on the scores attained in GD, PI, and CAT. To be eligible for Group Discussion and Personal Interview, open category applicants required at least 75 percentile in each section individually in CAT.

  • For seeking admission to PGPEx-MBEE, candidates must have acquired relevant scores in CAT/or GMAT
  • The final selection is based on past academic records, test scores, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
  • Submit the online application for PGP in the month of October, PGPEx, and Ph.D. in the month of August.
  • Online application fee for Ph.D. is Rs 2000, PGPEx-MBA is Rs 6000 and for foreign candidates applying for PGDM courses is USD 150

IIM Shillong Selection Process 2023:

Selection for PGP at IIM Shillong takes place in 2 phases:

  • Phase 1: Shortlisting of the candidates for GD and PI
  • Phase 2: Releasing the merit list for admission offer to PGP students

IIM Shillong Admission 2023: PGP, PGPEx-MBEE, MBA (WE)

At the postgraduate level, IIM Shillong offers MBA/PGP, MBA for working professionals and PGPEx MBEE to the students. Candidates must acquire relevant scores in CAT/ GMAT exam for admission. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of section-wise scores and total cut off marks in the admission tests. The screened candidate list will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The detailed eligibility criteria for these programmes given below:

  • MBA/PGP: Candidate must have successfully completed at least 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC, ST and PWD category candidates)
  • PGPEx MBEE: Applicant must have successfully completed graduation in any discipline from some recognised university. The experience of at least 5-years is required and apt relaxations will be applied  with strong managerial/supervisory experience
  • MBA (Working Executive) Applicant must have successfully completed graduation or its equivalent in any discipline with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA, Five years of work experience is required. Candidates having at least 3 years of experience will be considered applicable for the MBA Working Executive course.

IIM Shillong Ph.D. Admission 2023:

At the Research level, IIM Shillong proffers Ph.D. and PhD for working professionals. Candidates must have acquired at least valid test scores in one among GMAT, GRE, CAT, GATE, or JRF (NET) score to seek admission. The eligibility criteria follow below:

  • To apply for PhD, the candidate must have done post-graduation or must be possessed with the equivalent degree in any discipline with minimum 60% General Candidates (including EWS), 55% aggregate for applicants belonging to SC/ST candidates OR CA, ICWA/CMA or CS with BCom/similar degree. In addition to this, the applicant must have successfully completed Class X, XII and graduation with at least 60% (50% aggregate for SC/ST candidates)
  • PhD Working Professionals, candidates must have successfully completed Post Graduation along with a minimum of 5-years of professional experience on the last day of application (Experience Certificate/Pay Slips required as proof). Also, NOC required from the current employer during the Personal Interview. The candidate also must have successfully cleared graduation with a minimum of 55% for General candidates (5% relaxation is there for reserved category candidates). Candidate must have passed in post-graduation or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 55% (5% relaxation is there for reserved category candidates) OR must have done graduation with a professional qualification such as CA, ICWA and CS with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent

Those who are shortlisted will be called for an evaluation/personal interview to get done with the final selection. The successful candidates will join the course by the month of May of every academic year.

IIM Shillong Application Process:

The application process will start with applying for the CAT examination.

  • Apply to the institute via the CAT website
  • Choose IIM Shillong from the list of IIMs given in the form.
  • Fill all the mandatory fields and submit the form.
  • After the announcement of the CAT result in the month of January, candidates will be informed via email, if shortlisted for the WAT-PI process.

  • A Scanned passport size photograph (in JPG/JPEG format of size maximum 80 KB)
  • Scanned signature (in JPG/JPEG format of size minimum 150 pixels)

IIM Shillong Course Fee 2023:

The fee structure of the flagship PGP programme at IIM Shillong is Rs 15 lakh to complete 2-year programme.
