IMU CET 2022 Application Form, Exam Date, Syllabus, Eligibility, Pattern, Result

IMU CET 2022 will be conducted in the first week of June. This entrance test will be organized by the Indian Maritime University/IMU. IMU CET is an entrance test on a national level. It is conducted every year to provide admissions for different undergraduate & Post Graduate courses. The admission is provided to the aspirants who will succeed in this national level common entrance test in the field of Marine engineering. Candidates can get admission in any of the five campuses situated in Cochin, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Vishakhapatnam. This article will further give you all updated information regarding the process of application, exam pattern, eligibility standards, curriculum, results, etc. of IMU CET 2022.

Courses Provided By IMU CET 2022:

The UG courses provided through CET by IMU are as follows:

  • Diploma in Nautical Science
  • B.Sc. in Maritime Science/ Nautical Science/ Ship Building and Repair
  • B.Tech in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering/ Ocean Engineering

The PG courses provided through CET by IMU are as follows:

  • M.Tech in Marine engineering & management, Dredging &Harbor Engineering, and so on
  • MBA in International transportation & logistics management and Port & Shipping management.

IMU CET 2022 Application Form:

The details regarding the download of the IMU CET 2022 Application Form are stated below:

  • For IMU CET 2022 candidates can fill the application form via online mode.
  • Aspirants can initiate the process of filling their application forms from of April first week, 2022.
  • The Application procedure will take place by following different stages like registration via online, providing necessary details, enclosing with valid and essential documents while uploading the form.
  • Without application fee, the application form won’t be processed.
  • Aspirants need to provide scanned images of their signature, photograph, mark Sheet of class 10th with other pertinent papers.
  • Candidates can fill the application form till May second week, 2022.
  • Candidates need to apply with valid email ID as after form submission login details will be forwarded via his/her mail id.

Application Fee:

Candidate needs to pay the application fee through credit card/net banking/ debit card via online mode. For General and OBC the application fees are Rs.1000. Reserved category candidates (SC/ST) have to pay Rs.700 as an application fee.

Eligibility Criteria:

For B.Sc in Nautical Science and B.Tech in Marine Engineering candidates must qualify 12th standard from any reputed board with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. A minimum score of 50% marks in English from Class 10th or 12th is desirable. Applicant’s age must be within 17 to 25 years. SC or ST applicants will get 5% relaxation both in marks and age.

For B.SC in Ship Building and Repair candidates must qualify 12th standard from any reputed board with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. A minimum score of 50% marks in English from Class 10th or 12th is desirable. Applicant’s age must be within 17 to 25 years.

For M.Tech candidates must qualify B.Tech/B.E from any reputed board with 60 % marks in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.

For MBA applicants need to complete their bachelor’s degree from any reputed university with a minimum score of 50% in aggregate and 50% for English separately.

Exam Pattern:

In order to get the knowledge of the exam pattern candidates must follow the details provided here:

  • Mode of exam: IMU CET 2022 will be based on Online mode.
  • Type of Questions: MCQ’s type of questions will be there
  • Total Questions: For UG there will be 200 questions and 120 questions for the PG exam.
  • Duration: Candidates will get 3 hours to answer the paper.
  • Marks System: Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark to the candidate. There will be no marks deduction for incorrect answers.

  • General Aptitude-25
  • Mathematics-50
  • Chemistry-25
  • Physics-50
  • English-25

Syllabus:

The syllabus for the IMU CET 2022 session will be different for UG and PG programmes. The UG entrance syllabus for UG will be based on 10+2 standard.

For UG applicants the curriculum will suffice varied topics related to General aptitude, English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry done in class 12.

For MBA Course the curriculum will be based on Data Interpretation, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability.

For the M.Tech Course, the syllabus will cover Mathematics, English and any one of Marine Engineering/ Naval Architecture/ Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Admit Card:

IMU CET 2022 will be issued via online mode in May 2022. Applicants must go through their email frequently as they will receive an automated mail will in order to download the admit card. None of the candidates will receive their admit cards via any offline mode.

It is obligatory to take the admit card along with them or else candidates will not be permitted into the exam centre. The admit card will consist of a candidate’s name, entrance name, time, venue and so on.

Cut Off:

The cut off will be decided on the basis of a number of candidates appearing for the entrance, availability of seats, difficulty level, and certain other issues. IMU CET 2022 Cut Off will decide the enrolment of a candidate in his or her desired course. This cut-off score enables a candidate to seek admission to different colleges.  Entrance qualified candidates will be called for counselling round.

Result:

The Result for IMU CET 2022 will be declared online in June 2022.  Candidates can have their results by registering with their application numbers or IDs.

The scorecard will be issued online as well. Total marks and rank obtained by the candidates will be stated separately in the score-card.

By going through the result candidates will come to know if they are qualified for the next round ie. the counselling round.

Counselling

Candidates qualifying in the entrance examination need to register themselves for counselling round online. The  IMU campus will organize the online counselling.

Separate online counselling will be arranged for the other IMU campuses. Original qualification papers with a certificate of physical fitness is required in the online counselling round.

Candidates can register themselves for seeking admission in varied campuses depending on their wish. Candidates further have to pay counselling fee to take part in the counselling round.

Seats will be assigned based on the rank obtained by students in the entrance examination.
