Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates desire to make career in KSP need to apply on the dates. However, before that, check the eligibility criteria for various posts:

Armed Police Constable:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The post is only for males
  • It is mandatory to have completed class X or equivalent examination from some recognized board or institute.
  • General category applicants must be of the age between 18 to 25 years whereas SC/ST/CAT-01/2A/2B/3A/3B category applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 27 years. Kindly note that applicants belonging to Tribal positions must fall under 18 to 30 years.

Armed Police Sub Inspector- Armed RSI, SRSI, Sub Inspector, PSI Posts:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • This post is meant only for male applicants
  • Candidate must belong to Karnataka state or must be possessed with Karnataka domicile certificate.
  • Applicant’s fluency in Kannada should be there verbally and writing.
  • Candidates must have completed three-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from the recognised university or institution in any discipline.
  • General category applicant must fall between the ages 18 and 25 years old. On the other hand, SC, ST, CAT- 01, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, and CAT- 02 categories must have age between 18 and 27. Whereas tribal candidates should have ages between 18 and 30.

Civil Police Constable:

  • Applicant must be Indian
  • Minimum qualification is class XII or equivalent from some recognized board in any discipline.
  • Age criteria vary from one category to another. Candidate belonging to general category must be between 19 to 25 years old, whereas in SC, ST, CAT- 01, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, and CAT- 02 categories, the age should be between 19 to 27 years. In addition to this, tribal category applicants must be between 19 to 30 years.

Special Reserve Police Constable and Bandsmen:

  • Applicant must be citizen of India.
  • Those who have completed X or equivalent exam from the recognized board or institute in any discipline.
  • The age criteria for General category applicant falls between 18 and 25 years old whereas SC, ST or other backward category must falls between of 18 and 27 years.

Exam Pattern:

The applicants applying for any of the post must have information about examination pattern. Recruitment includes two examinations- Prelims and Mains. The selected applicants will then appear for Physical Test.

Exam Pattern – Prelims:

  • The Prelims examination comprises of two papers with 200 questions for 200 marks.
  • The exam duration will be for 90 minutes.
  • Questions in the paper are descriptive and Objective
  • There will be deduction of 0.25 marks for incorrect answer

Prelims Paper I: Descriptive Type Questions in English and Kannada languages for 50 marks

Prelims Paper II: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions for 150 marks

Exam Pattern Mains Exam:

  • Mains Exam will be in two languages English/Kannada
  • The paper will be descriptive in nature.
  • The exam consisted of Essay Writing, Precise Writing, and Sentence Translation.
  • Duration to complete Main Exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes
  • The paper will be for 50 marks.

Marks Distribution:

  • Essay Writing: 20 Marks
  • Precise Writing: 10 Marks
  • Sentence Translation: 20 Marks

Examination Syllabus:

The examination syllabus for all the positions will be same. The shortlisted candidates will appear for Physical Standard Test requirements and Physical Endurance requirements once the written test is over. The syllabus is mentioned below:

The details mentioned on the admit card includes Name of the Candidate, Date of Birth, Photograph and Signature, Registration number, Name of Examination Centre, Date of Exam, and Reporting Time.   • Click on the ‘Admit Card’ link.
  • Enter the User ID and password.
  • The Admit Card will appear on the screen.
  • Download the admit card for further requirements.

Examination Result:

The exam result for Karnataka Police Department will release on the official website. Use the login credentials to check the result. Here is the step-by-step process to check the result:

  • First, visit the official website of the Karnataka Police Department.
  • Make a search for the notification regarding the KSP Recruitment 2023 result.
  • Enter the registration number and password.
  • The result will appear on screen.

Cutoff Marks:

The cut off marks for KSP Recruitment 2023 will be released. The cut-off marks depend on the following circumstances:

  • Number of applicants appeared for exam.
  • Number of candidates from reserved category applicants
  • Vacancies announced

Physical Endurance Test (PET) – Besides written examination, candidates are also selected on the basis of performance at different events. Here is the list:

  • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs), distance and height 5.60 m and for this event candidate will get 3 chances
  • Long Jump, distance and height is 3.80 m and for this event candidate will get 3 chances
  • High Jump and for this event, the distance and height is 1.20 m. here also candidate will get 3 chances
  • Running for 1600 m distance to be covered in 6 min 30 seconds

Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • Chest size for Tribal should be 75 cm and for other categories should be 86 cm
  • Height for Tribal should be 158 cm and for other categories, it is 170 cm

Physical Endurance Test (PET) for KSP Armed Police Sub Inspector- Armed RSI, SRSI, Sub Inspector, and PSI Posts:

  • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs), distance and height 5.60 m and for this event, candidate will be given 3 Chances
  • Long Jump distance and height 3.80 m. For this event also, candidate will get 3 Chances
  • For High Jump Event, 1.20 m is the distance and height. Candidates will be given 3 Chances
  • 1600 m Running to be completed in 6 min 30 sec

Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • Chest size for Tribal category candidates is 75 cm and 86 cm for candidates other than Tribal category.
  • Height of Tribal category candidates is 158 cm and 170 cm for candidates other than Tribal category.

Physical Endurance Test (PET) for Civil Police Constable

  • Women belonging to tribal and other categories should have weight 45 kg
  • Height of tribal women should be 150 cm and other category women should be 158 cm
  • Chest size of tribal men should be 75 cm and 86 cm for other categories
  • Height of tribal men should be 155 cm and 170 cm for other categories

Efficiency Test (ET) will also commenced

Women:

  • Shot Put (4 Kgs) for distance/height 3.75 m will be given 3 Chances
  • Long Jump for distance/height 2.50 m will also be given 3 Chances
  • High Jump for distance/height 0.90 m will get 3 Chances
  • Running for distance of 400 m will be given 2 minutes 30 seconds

Men:

  • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs) for distance/height 5.60 m will get 3 chances
  • Long Jump for distance/height 3.80 m will get 3 chances
  • High Jump for distance/height 1.20 m will get 3 Chances
  • Running for distance 1600 m to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds

Physical Standard Test (PST) for Special Reserve Police Constable and Bandsmen

Women

  • Weight of Tribal women and other than tribal women should be 45 kg
  • Height of Tribal women should be 150 cm and other than tribal women should be 158 cm

Men

  • Chest size of Tribal men should be 75 cm and other than Tribal men should be 86 cm
  • Height of Tribal men should be 155 cm and other than Tribal men should be 170 cm

For Ex-servicemen

  • Chest size should be 86 cm

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Women and Ex-servicemen

  • Shot Put (4 Kgs), height/distance 3.75 m and candidates will get 3 Chances
  • Long Jump, height/distance 2.50 m and candidates will get 3 Chances
  • High Jump, height/distance 0.90 m and candidates will get 3 Chances
  • Running for 400 m distance and candidates will get 2 min 30 sec

For Others

  • Shot Put (7.26 Kgs), height/distance 5.60 m will get 3 Chances
  • Long Jump, height/distance 3.80 m will get 3 Chances
