NID 2022: If you want to associate with the field of design then you must have heard of NID, which stands for National Institute of Design. There are 3 different campuses located in prominent cities of the nation such as Bengaluru, Gandhinagar & Ahmedabad. The admission to the eligible candidates into many Undergraduate and PostGraduate courses via NID.   • 6th December 2021: The last date to apply for NID 2022 Application Form is 6th December 2021.

NID Application Form 2022:

Those who are interested in taking admission to the DAT course are required to make use of the official website of NID. It is advised to go through the admission details via the brochure provided. Besides this, ensure to get ready with the scanned photo and signature. Make sure for filling and submitting the application form after it is filled completely. There is a requirement for paying the application fee. Suppose, the candidate has chosen payment using debit card/ credit card.

Steps to Apply for NID 2022 Application Form:

  • Visit the official website of NID 2022 i.e, https://admissions.nid.edu
  • On the Home Page, click on “Signup” and fill the registration form with Details like Nationality, Category, Disability, Birth Date, Email and Mobile Number.
  • After registration, login credentials will be sent via an email to the registered email address
  • Log in to your account using your Registered Email ID, Date of Birth, and Password to proceed further.
  • Now fill the Application Form with required details like Personal, Educational, Program applying for, etc.. and submit the details.
  • After filling in all details, click ‘Save & Proceed’ to go to the next section ‘Upload Document’.
  • Now upload required documents like Photograph, Signature, Certificate (if Applicable).
  • The photograph must be in JPG/JPEG format, should be of minimum 75 KB and a maximum of 100 KB in size. It must be a coloured photograph taken at a professional studio. Photographs with self-composed portraits will not be accepted.
  • All signature files must be in JPG/JPEG format and should be of minimum 75 KB and maximum 100 KB in size. You should have your signature digitally photographed or scanned and cropped to the required size
  • Now, pay the application fee.
  • After the completion of the transaction take the printout of the Fee Receipt for proof.
  • Tick the declaration for accepting terms and conditions and take the printout of the filled Application Form for future references.

The DAT 2022 will be conducted in the following cities in India:

Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kurukshetra, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada.

Eligibility Criteria For Bachelor of Design (B.Des.)

Age Limit:

  • Indian Nationals (General Category and General EWS Category): Candidates born on or after 1 July 2002 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBCNCL), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1999 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1997 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2002 are eligible to apply for admission.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates have to pass or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities etc.) from any recognized board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria for Master of Design (M.Des.)

Age Limit:

  • For Indian Nationals in General Category & General EWS Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1992 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBCNCL), Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST): Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1989 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Indian Nationals in Person with Disabilities (PwD) Reserved Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1987 are eligible to apply for admission.
  • For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1992 are eligible to apply for admission.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have passed the bachelor’s degree of 4 years duration in any specialization after 12th level or its equivalent from any university or institute recognized by law in India OR
  • Full time diploma of 4 years duration in Design/ Applied Arts/ Fine Arts/ Architecture, after 12th standard or equivalent to 12th standard from any university or institute recognized by law in India OR
  • Bachelor’s degree of 3 years duration in any specialization after 12th level or equivalent to 12th standard.

NID 2022 Exam Pattern:

  • The paper will be conducted through Offline Mode i.e, pen and paper mode.
  • The exam duration will be for 3 hours.
  • The question paper will appear in the English language only.
  • The questions will appear in the Multiple Choice Questions type. Along with these subjective questions will appear.
  • The question paper will be comprised of 100 marks.
  • Studio test will be of 100 marks and will appear in English language only.
  • After the studio test, the interview will be conducted separately.

NID 2022 Syllabus:

The syllabus for NID 2022 consisted of various topics such as Composition, creativity, general mental ability, communication skills, and sensitivity to the environment, drawing skills, & subject of design. As far as studio test is concerned, it comprises of various sections and that too in so many formats like the practical assignment, group discussion and lots more.

Admit card:

Admit Cards will be available only on the official NID admissions website (https://admissions.nid.edu). NID 2022 Admit Card will release on 23rd December 2021 for prelim exam.

NID 2022 Result:

The final marks of the candidate appearing for the NID 2022 Exam, will be calculated based on the weightage of the marks obtained in the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains, which will be announced later.

Final Merit List:

The final merit list for each discipline of the B.Des & M.Des. Programme will be generated category wise (Open, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD), based on the sum total of the weighted scores obtained by the candidate in each stage of the admission process, namely the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. A separate merit list will be prepared for Overseas candidates.

Admission Process:

The performance in the entrance examination, studio test, and personal interview will decide the fate of candidates for NID 2022. During the time of admission, candidates need to report to the campus with the original documents and admission fee. If you failed to carry the required original documents then admission may lead to cancellation.
