RBI Officers Grade B Exam Pattern: It is recently decided by the Reserve Bank of India to commence a new scheme of choosing the officers in Grade B. According to the new selection scheme, the question paper appears in the online form. The questions will appear in the multiple-choice type and comprise of two different phases-Phase I and Phase II. Phase I consisted of examination that will continue according to the existing Phase I exam for Grade Band Phase II will have three papers. Two of them are mandatory papers (English and Economic and Social Issues) and the third one is optional (Finance & Management or Economics or Statistics) Paper-II, English will be descriptive as well as computer-based which implies that the paper will be typed on PC’s screen via keyboard. It is provided info to candidates that Phase II of the exam will commence within 2-3 weeks of Phase I.

RBI Officers Grade B Exam Pattern:

  • The phase of Examination: Two phases Phase I and Phase II and then interview
  • Phase I Info: In Phase I, questions will appear in Multiple Objective Type. There are four modules such as General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and Reasoning.
  • Phase II: There will be three papers in this phase. The questions will appear in Multiple Choice Questions Type. Paper I, English writing skills. Paper-II, Economic & Social Issues and Paper-III based on optional subjects inclusive of Economics, Finance & Management or Statistics.
  • Mode of paper: All the papers will appear in the online mode
  • Those who successfully pass Phase I will proceed to Phase II
  • The results of Phase II will decide for an interview later. Thus only those who are shortlisted will appear for the interview round
  • Final Selection of candidates: The final selection of the candidates for recruitment to Grade B officers will be based on the merit list consisted of marks attained in Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III and last but not least Interview.
  • Exam Duration: In Phase I, Objective Type Questions will appear for 200 marks that need to completed in 2 hours of time duration.
  • In Phase II, Objective Type Questions will appear for 300 marks
  • Paper I-English writing skills for 90 minutes and for 100 marks
  • Paper-II – Economic and Social Issues for 90 minutes and for 100 marks
  • Paper-III – Economic and Social Issues for 90 minutes and for 100 marks
  • The interview round consisted of 50 marks
