SSC CHSL 2024: Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam The Staff Selection Commission conducts exams to fill vacancies to fill posts for Lower Division Clerk (LDC); Data Entry Operator (DEO); & Postal/Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) through SSC CHSL 2024 Exam. SSC-CHSL stands for Staff Selection Commission- Combined Higher Secondary Level. It is a competitive exam held by the commission to recruit grade-C & grade-D employees such as LDC & DEO for several government offices.

SSC CHSL 2024 Application Form:

SSC CHSL 2024 Application will release in November 2024. The online application form link will be available at the official website of SSC i.e. https://ssc.nic.in/ from November 2024. The last date to apply online SSC CHSL 2024-22 Exam will be December 2024.

Steps to Apply Online for SSC CHSL 2024:

  • Visit the Official website of SSC.
  • Then click on ‘New User’ Register Now.
  • To begin with the registration, candidates need to provide basic details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, email id, mobile number, etc.
  • Click on the submit button to submit your online registration form for SSC CHSL 2024 then, All the candidates will be issued a Registration ID for SSC CHSL 2024 exam.
  • Candidates are required to log in with the provided Registration ID, date of birth, and password to complete registration for SSC CHSL 2020.
  • In the next step, candidates have to upload photographs and signatures following the requisites mentioned by SSC.
  • Photograph – The photograph must be clicked in front of white color or light-colored background and must be more than 4 kb in size and less than 12 kb. The photograph resolution must be 100*120 pixels in width and height.
  • Signature – The signature must be in black or blue ink on the white sheet. The scanned copy of the signature must be in jpg format and it should be more than 1 kb in size and less than 12 kb. The resolution should be 40*60 pixels in width and height.
  • Then log in with a registered ID and password to complete the Part-II of the application form.
  • After filling up the application form, candidates must preview the entire application form.

Application Fee:

  • For General CandidatesRs.100/- No fees for SC/ST/PH/Women & Ex-Serviceman.
  • Applications fee should be paid only through SBI either in the form of challan or through SBI Net Banking or any other bank Credit/Debit Card. Challan form will be generated online

Eligibility Criteria 2024:

After filling out the Application Form Candidates must be fulfilled the following Eligibility criteria:

Nationality:

  • The Candidates must be either citizen of India, or the subject of Bhutan, or subject of Nepal, OR
  • Tibetan refugee, who came to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle, OR
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle

Age Criteria:

  • The minimum age of the candidates should be 18 and the maximum age should be 27 years.

The relaxation in age is given below table:

For SC/ST age relaxation is 5 years
For OBC age relaxation is 3 years
For PH age relaxation is 10 years
For PH+OBC age relaxation is 13 years
For PH+SC/ST age relaxation is 15 years

Qualification:

  • The Education Qualification for SSC CHSL 2024 is that candidates should have passed their class 12th exam or equivalent from a state or central recognized institute.
  • For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard pass in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

SSC CHSL 2024 Exam Pattern:

The SSC CHSL Exam will be conducted in 3 stages i.e, Tier I, Tier II & Tier III.  SSC CHSL Tier I is an Objective Multiple Choice Question paper, Tier-II exam is a Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi, while Tier III is the Computer Proficiency Test.

Tier 1:

  • Tier I will be conducted through Online mode.
  • General Intelligence; English Language; Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness
  • 200 questions (50 x 4) containing 200 marks.
  • 0.25 Negative Mark for each wrong answer.
  • Total Time Allowed is Two Hours (120 Minutes).

Tier-2 Examination:

The paper will be of the descriptive type covering the following components:

  • This written test comprises an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of about 150-200 words.
  • The total time duration of the exam is of 60 minutes and the total marks are 100 marks.
  • All the questions are based on the concepts of the 10th standard.

Tier-3 Examination (Skills-Based Test):

This round is conducted for candidates who have qualified for the written exam. This round is taken to test a candidate’s skills related to the post that he has applied for. You are advised to start typing practicing on your system or take a class to improve your typing speeds.

For the written test you should have good basics in all four mentioned subjects. When you feel confident about the basics you should study with practice sets. You need to do lots of practice before you are ready for an exam.

SSC CHSL Syllabus:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: The questions about verbal & non-verbal types. This includes questions on the analogy; analysis of spatial orientation; visualization of space; judgment; solving problems; similarities & differences; decision makings; discriminations; observations; relationships concept; arithmetical reasoning; visuals memory, arithmetic with numbers series; & figural classifications; etc.
  • English-Language: Fill in Blanks; Spotting Error; Homonym/ Synonym; Antonym; Spelling; detection of miss-spelled words; One-word substitution; Idioms & Phrases; Active/Passive Voice of Verb; Improvements of Sentence; Conversions into Indirect-direct narrations; etc.
  • Numerical Aptitudes: Question will require tests Ability of appropriate uses of number; number senses of Candidates. Computations of whole number; decimals; fractions; Profits & Losses; Square roots; Percentages,  Partnerships Ratios & Proportions; Average; Interests; Discounts; Mixtures & Allegation; Times & distances; Businesses; Times & Works etc.
  • General Awareness: Questions aimed to test the candidate’s awareness of general environments; & their applications for society. Also; it tests the knowledge of current events. The tests include questions that are related to India & its neighboring countries – History; General Policy Geography; Culture; Economic Scene; & Scientific Research.

SSC CHSL Tier-II Syllabus:

The syllabus of SSC CHSL 2024 Tier II will consist of essay topics that will be related to National Interest, Finance & Economy, Ecological Issues, Politics, Social Issues, Schemes & Governance, Sports, Technology, Geopolitics, Environmental Concerns, etc. While, the type of letter/ application asked will be Application, Complaint, Suggestion, Official Appreciation, Follow up or Feedback, etc.

Skill test for Data Entry Operator:

Typing Speed of 8;000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions/hour. Speed will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words.

Postal-Assistant or Sorting Assistant & LDCs Candidates Typing Test:

Those candidates who qualify for the written exam have to go through a typing test. This typing test has to be conducted in either English or Hindi. For English typing English, the minimum typing speed should be at least 35 wpm and for Hindi typing, it should be at least 30 wpm.

SSC CHSL 2024 Admit Card:

  • Before 2 weeks of the exam, candidates can download the CHSL 2024 Admit Card
  • Candidates can check the admit card region wise
  • SSC will be issued the admit for all stages
  • Admit cards will be issued for the First & Second stages separately.
  • Candidates can download the admit card online.
  • The authority will not send your admit card by post

Result:

  • The result of the CHSL 2024 exams will be announced in online mode. Candidates can check the result by visiting the official website of SSC.
  • Candidates who clear the Tier I exam will be eligible for tier II and clearing tier II will make them eligible for the skill test and candidates who clear the tier III (skill test) will be called for document verification.
