WBJEE PUBDET 2024 Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility, Syllabus

WBJEE PUBDET 2024 stands for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) commenced by PUBDET so that eligible candidates will be able to seek admission in BA/BSc (honors) programmes proffered at Presidency University, Kolkata. Presidency University Bachelor Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) commences with separate entrance examinations conducted to provide admission to candidates in different programmes under Science and Humanities offered at Presidency University at the undergraduate level. Candidates can apply for only two subjects while applying for PUBDET.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have successfully completed a higher secondary examination commenced by CBSE, West Bengal, or an equivalent exam not prior to 2021.
  • The candidate must have successfully completed class XII with a minimum of five recognized subjects, including the English language and excluding Environmental Science.
  • The aggregate will be calculated in the best four recognized subjects.
  • In Physics, the General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Chemistry, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Mathematics, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Statistics, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Life Science, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Economics, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Geography, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Geology, General category candidate must have scored at least 70%, SC/ST 52.50 % and OBC-A/B 63%
  • In Bengali, General category candidate must have scored at least 60%, SC/ST 45% and OBC-A/B 54%
  • In English, General category candidate must have scored at least 65%, SC/ST 48 % and OBC-A/B 58%
  • In History, General category candidate must have scored at least 65%, SC/ST 48.75 % and OBC-A/B 58%
  • In Philosophy, General category candidate must have scored at least 60%, SC/ST 45 % and OBC-A/B 54%
  • In Political Science, General category candidate must have scored at least 60%, SC/ST 50 % and OBC-A/B 54%
  • In Sociology, General category candidate must have scored at least 60%, SC/ST 45 % and OBC-A/B 54%
  • In Hindi, General category candidate must have scored at least 60%, SC/ST 45 % and OBC-A/B 54%
  • In Performing Arts, General category candidate must have scored at least 60%, SC/ST 45 % and OBC-A/B 54%
  • For Bengali, the candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at XII level. The candidate must have Bengali as one subject with minimum 60% marks.
  • For English, the candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at XII level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 65% marks in English-A (WBHS) or 75% in English.
  • For History, the candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at XII level. The candidate must have History as one subject with minimum 65% marks.
  • For Philosophy, the candidate may apply from streams such as Arts / Science / Commerce at XII level. The candidate must have English as one subject with minimum 65% marks.
    For Political Science, the candidate may apply from streams such as Arts / Science / Commerce at XII level. The candidate must have English as one subject with minimum 65% marks.
  • For Sociology, the candidate may apply from streams such as Arts / Science / Commerce at XII level. The candidate must have English as one subject with minimum 70% marks.
  • For Hindi, the candidate may apply from streams such as Arts / Science / Commerce at XII level. The candidate must have Hindi as one subject with minimum 60% marks.
  • For Performing Arts, the candidate may apply from streams such as Arts / Science / Commerce at XII level. The candidate must have English as one subject with minimum 70% marks.
  • For Physics, the candidate needs to apply from the Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at XII level. The candidate must have attained 80% in Physics and 80% in Mathematics.
  • For Chemistry, the candidate has to apply from the Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at XII level. The candidate must have attained 80% in Chemistry.
  • For Mathematics, the candidate has to apply from the Science stream with Mathematics at XII level. The candidate must have attained 80% in Mathematics.
  • For Statistics, the candidate has to apply from the Science stream with Mathematics as one subject at XII level. The candidate must have attained 80% in Mathematics or 80% in Statistics.
  • For Life Sciences, the candidate has to apply from Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Statistics, and Biology at XII level.
  • For Economics, the candidate may apply from Arts / Science / Commerce stream at XII level. The candidate must have Mathematics (not Business Mathematics) as one subject with 70% marks in English (A/B) and 75% in Mathematics.
  • For Geography, the candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream with any three of the following subjects at XII level: Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, and Geology.
  • For Geology, the candidate has to apply from the Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the XII level. The candidate must have acquired at least 70% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

WBJEE PUBDET 2024 Admission Process:

  • First register yourself using the official website of the university by entering information such as Name, Gender, Father’s Name, Mother’s name, Identification Type, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, Category, and Email ID
  • It is important that the candidate should possess the valid working mobile number and email-ID to receive the latest updates and notifications. Make sure to double-check the details before the final submission.
  • Now, fill the application form which is available on the official website of WBJEEB.
  • If you have successfully submitted the application form, you will receive PUBDET Admit Card from the official website of the examination. Once you download the admit card, take the print out of the admit card and carry it along with you to the allotted test centre.
  • Reach at the Exam centre on time. Carry the following things at the Exam centre:
  • A Print of PUBDET admit card
  • Copy of colored photographs uploaded while filling the online application form.
  • Any photo identity card in original (such as Aadhar card/Pan Card/Passport/X Standard Admit Card/School ID card)
  • The exam duration will be for 90 minutes. Candidate needs to solve several Multiple choice questions.

Exam Result:

WBJEE PUBDET 2024result will be announced in the form of Rank Cards. These cards will consist of information such as the candidate’s total score and rank. You need to go to the official website of WBJEEB.

Counselling:

After result declaration, a notification will be issued informing about counselling details and schedule. Make sure to appear in PUBDET counselling to secure admission in courses available at Presidency University based on their rank in PUBDET exam.
