Eligibility Criteria:

  • It is important that the candidate must be a permanent resident of the Jammu & Kashmir State.
  • The candidate’s age should not be less than 32 years and above 21 years.
  • Candidates must carry a degree of graduation in any discipline

Those who are applying for recruitment into the Gazetted Police Service must go through the physical standards:

  • The height of Male should be 165 cm and for females, it should be 150 cm.
  • Chest 84 cm (male) and 79 cm (female)
  • Expansion of 5 cm for both male and female candidates.

For Candidates belonging to Leh/ Kargil

  • The height of Male should be 160 cm and for females, it should be 145 cm.
  • The chest should be 79 cm for both male and female candidates.
  • Expansion of 5 cm for both male and female candidates.

JKPSC 2023 Application Process:

Candidates need to apply for Jammu and Kashmir PSC Recruitment 2023 from the official website. Make sure to eligibility conditions applying.

  • Go to the website at jkpsc.nic.in to apply.
  • Avail the link to apply for JKPSC KAS 2023 and click on it.
  • Register with a mobile number and relevant email id and other details as asked.
  • Fill the details asked in the application form.
  • Make a payment of the application fee and upload the required documents.
  • Submit the application form after checked it once. Keep the print of the application form for further use.

Application Fee:

  • General category candidates will pay Rs 1000/- as application fee
  • Reserved category candidates will pay Rs 500/- as an application fee. However, PWD category candidates will be exempted from making any payment.

J&K PSC Selection Process:

  • Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for the main examination
  • Combined Competitive (Main) Examination (written + interview) for selecting candidates for the various services and posts.
  • The preliminary exam will be comprised of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) for 450 marks. This exam will serve as a screening test only. The marks acquired in the preliminary examination will help in short-listing of the candidates for the Main Examination.
  • The Main Examination will consist of a written test and interview. The written test will consist of descriptive-type questions. Those who attain minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Examination fixed by the Commission in any or all the papers will be called for an interview
  • The interview test will help to judge the mental caliber of the candidate. Qualities such as mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, the balance of judgment, clear and logical expositions, variety, and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity will be judged in an interview.

Exam Pattern:

In this paragraph find below the JKPSC Recruitment 2023 exam pattern for Preliminary & Main Exam

Preliminary Exam:

  • The exam will be in the English language only.
  • The exam will be commenced in offline mode
  • Paper will have Objective Type Questions
  • There will be two papers
  • The exam duration will be 120 minutes each.
  • Paper I will be for 200 marks and Paper II will also be for 200 marks.

Main:

  • The exam will be in English language only.
  • The exam will be commenced in offline mode
  • Paper will have Descriptive Type Questions
  • There will be 8 papers
  • The exam duration will be 180 minutes each.
  • Paper I will be for 200 marks and Paper II will also be for 200 marks.
  • English (Qualifying) will be for 300 marks.
  • Paper I (Essay) will be for 250 marks.
  • Paper-II (GS-I) will be for 250 marks.
  • Paper III (GS-II) will be for 250 marks.
  • Paper IV (GS-III) will be for 250 marks.
  • Paper V (GS-IV) will be for 250 marks.
  • Paper VI (Optional Paper-I) will be for 250 marks.
  • Paper VII (Optional Paper-I) will be for 250 marks.

Important to Note: The personal interview will be for 250 marks and will be the final selection stage. The marks attained in the main exam and the personal interview will be combined together to decide the final result of the candidate.

Exam Syllabus:

(Preliminary)

  • Paper-I will consist of topics from Current events, History of India, Indian and World Geography, India polity, Economic and Social Development, Environmental ecology, and General science
  • Paper-II (Qualifying Paper) will consist of topics such as Comprehension, Interpersonal and communication skills, Logical reasoning and analytical ability, Decision making and problem-solving, General mental ability, and Basic numeracy

(Main)

  • English (Qualifying Paper) will cover topics such as Comprehension, Precis writing. Usage and vocabulary, and Short essays

Admit Card:

There will be release of the admit card via the official website. Go to the official website and log in with the registration number/username and password/date of birth to check the admit card. Download it take a print for further use. It is important to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Carry an ID proof along with the admit card.

Exam Centre:

The entrance exam for JKPSC Recruitment 2023 will be held in various Exam centers such as Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Jammu, Kargil, Leh, Rajouri, and Srinagar districts. Once you have selected the Exam center can’t be changed later. However, the Commission may allocate a different center to the candidate as per the situation.

Answer Key:

The answer key will consist of answers to the questions attempted in the paper. Go to the official website to check the answer key. There will be a release of the answer key for Preliminary Exams only. The candidate can raise the challenge to the answer key according to the provisions of the commission. If the objection found valid against the answer, then final answer keys will be released. Download the answer key from the official website.

Exam Result:

There will be a release of each stage of the exam. The result will be released in the form of a merit list of the selected applicants who will move to the next stage of the Exam. After all the stages get over, the result will be announced. Marks acquired in the Main Exam (written and interview) will determine the final order of merit. Candidates will be allotted to different services keeping in mind the merit in the exam and the preferences for several services and posts. The allotment of the candidates to several services will be made by the Commission at their own discretion.
