JNU Admission 2025: Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the best and very reputed universities in New Delhi and India as well which was established in the year 1969. Entrance Examinations are held for admission to various undergraduate, post-graduate and Ph.D. programmes to select the deserving candidates. The application forms shall be available from the 2nd week of February 2025 on the official website of JNU. The aspiring candidates should get the information regarding the important details from this website. The entrance examination is scheduled to be held in the 3rd week of May 2025.

JNU 2025 Application Form:

JNU Admission 2025 Application Form can be filled up and submitted online mode only.

For registration, the candidates are required to login to the JNU’s official website. They are also required to upload the scanned image of their recent photographs and signatures in JPG format. The specification of the photograph should be 150 px width and 200 px height and its size should be less than 20-25 KB and the signature should be of 140 px width and 60 px height and size should be less than 10-20 KB.

The candidates must check all the necessary details before submitting the application form. After submitting the application form the applicants are advised to take the printout of the filled application form for future references. The candidates are then required to pay the application fee to complete the process of application. The application fee can be paid online through credit/debit card or net banking from SBI or offline through challan.

Candidates can apply for a maximum of three fields of study in a single application form for the same level of the study programme. However if separate application forms are submitted by the same candidates for different fields of study in the same level of the study programme, then the candidate’s candidature stays canceled.

Application Fee: For M. Phil/M.Tech/MPH/Pre-PhD/PhD, M.A, M.Sc., MCA

  • For general category candidates – An application fee of Rs. 530/- for 1 choice, Rs. 800/- for 2 choices and Rs. 1000/- for 3 choices.
  • For SC/ST/PWD & OBC candidates – An application fee of Rs. 310/- for 1 choice, Rs. 415/- for 2 choices and Rs. 500/- for 3 choices.
  • For BPL category candidates – An application fee of Rs. 110/- for 1 choice, Rs. 215/- for 2 choices and Rs. 300/- for 3 choices.
  • For B.A. (Hons.), 1st & 2nd year & all other part-time programmes
  • For general category candidates – An application fee of Rs. 400/- for 1 choice, Rs. 575/- for 2 choices and Rs. 750/- for 3 choices.
  • For SC/ST/PWD & OBC candidates –An application fee of Rs. 265/- for 1 choice, Rs. 325/- for 2 choices and Rs. 380/- for 3 choices.
  • For BPL category candidates – An application fee of Rs. 65/- for 1 choice, Rs. 125/- for 2 choices and Rs. 180/- for 3 choices.

JNU Admission 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

  • For B.A (Hons.) 1st Year: Passed or appearing Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) or any other equivalent recognised examination with the minimum prescribed percentage of marks. Certificate of Alimiah with minimum 45% marks and passed English Language subject at the senior secondary level or a three-year course conducted by Darul-Uloom Deoband.
  • B.A. (Hons.) 2nd Year: 1st Year of Bachelor’s Degree or any other equivalent examination.
  • For M.A. Course: A Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50 % marks in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education.
  • For M.Phil. / PhD Program: Must have passed a master’s degree course in the concerned subject/language with minimum eligibility conditions. Qualified aspirants for a fellowship through the JRF category under the national eligibility test (NET) are also eligible.
  • M.Sc in Life Sciences: B.Tech or B.Sc. or Equivalent in Biological, Physical or Biotechnology or Agricultural Sciences. Candidates have At least 55% marks.
  • MA in Economics: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks. Also have a good knowledge of 10+2 Mathematics.
  • MCA: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Candidates have good knowledge of mathematics. At least 55% marks are required.
  • M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology: Candidates have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, any branch of Engineering, Any branch of Science, MCA. Candidates have Minimum 55% marks.
  • M.Tech in Statistical Computing: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering, Operational Research or in any branch of Science, MCA
    Candidates are required to qualify the exam with 55% marks.

Exam Pattern:

M.Tech: The question paper for the entrance examination will have two parts. The first part will have a question from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology and the second part will consist of questions from following specialization of Biology& Bioinformatics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics & Engineering Sciences.   • PhD: The candidates are evaluated on the basis of their knowledge and awareness in the particular specialized area of their interest. The written test is all about analytical and critical appraisal-type questions.
  • B.A: The question covers subjects and specialization in standards B.A. course.
  • B.Sc: The MCQ-type questions covering topics from Physics, Physical Chemistry and Mathematics of B. Sc. level.
  • B.A. (Hons.): The entrance test for B.A. (Hons.) foreign language will including General Knowledge, General English and Elementary Knowledge. The questions will be of MCQ type.
  • MCA: The questions for the MCA entrance test will be of MCQ type covering topics from computer applications and Information Technology.
  • M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology: 100 Questions will be asked in the exam, all questions will be objective. For the correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded. Each wrong answer 0.25 mark will be deducted.

MCA:

General aptitude, reasoning and Bachelor’s level and 10+2 mathematics and Computer Science.

M.Tech in Computer Science and Technology:

Reasoning and Bachelor’s/Master’s level Mathematics, General aptitude and Computer Science.

M.Tech in Statistical Computing:

There will be Part A and Part B. The part A will comprises of reasoning, General aptitude and Bachelor’s/Master’s level mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. Part B will contain topics from data science/data communication stream.

MA in Economics:

In MA in Economics: there are topics like Microeconomics, Problems of Economic History, Descriptive Statistics, Underdevelopment and Growth, etc.

M.Sc in Life Sciences:

In M.Sc in Life Sciences: there is No specific syllabus. Candidates who are preparing for JNU  In M.Sc in Life Sciences can follow the UGC approved syllabus.

BA (Hons) 1st Year in Foreign Languages:

Candidates must aware of general knowledge questions, artificial language, short essays on issues related to the subject

Practice Papers for JNU Admission 2025:

Students could practice for the entrance tests by solving previous years question papers uploaded on the official website. The JNU website has the question papers of last three years and students could easily download the question papers from their relevant subjects and prepare for the entrance.

JNU Admit Card:

The Admit Card for the entrance examination of JNU could be downloaded from the official website of JNU. The admit card will allow the candidates to enter the examination hall on the examination date.

Result:

The result of the JNU 2025 Entrance Examination shall be available online on the official website and those selected shall be eligible for the next round of the selection process which is viva-voce.

A separate merit list will be prepared for candidates belonging to the general category, schedule cast category, schedule tribe category, OBC category and physically handicapped category for each programme of study.

JNU Admission 2025:

Admission will be done purely on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance examination and the viva-voce.
