NLSAT 2023 Application Process:

Applicants need to apply for NLSAT 2023 through online mode. The application process comprises of registration, filling the application form, documents upload, and fee submission. Here are the steps to apply:

  • First click on the registration link
  • You will be redirected to the registration window
  • After this, click the “Register” button
  • The registration form will open in which you will enter the registration details such as name, mobile number, email Id.
  • Choose and confirm the password for the candidate account.
  • Login to the account to access the application form
  • Start filling the form with personal, educational, and other information.
  • Check the form once and submit it.

Application Fee:

The application fee for NLSAT 2023 is Rs.2,000/- (General category) and Rs.1500/- for SC/ST, EWS, and PwD category applicants. Submit the application fee using various modes such as Net Banking/Credit Card/ Debit Card.

Reservation Policy:

  • Scheduled Castes: 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes: 7.5%

NLSAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Those who wish to apply for NLSAT 2023 need to first meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the university. Here are the complete details about the minimum eligibility conditions expected from the applicant:

  • Applicant must be a graduate in any discipline from some recognized university.
  • Candidate must have cleared graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and SC/ST category applicants must have acquired 40% aggregate marks.
  • Those who are in the qualifying exam may also apply for the examination. However, such candidates will be able to fetch admission after the successful completion of graduation with the minimum aggregate percentage.

Course Fee:

The course fee for General Category candidates is Rs. 2, 88,855 whereas Rs. 2, 85,445 for SC/ST category candidates.

Selection Process:

NLSAT is a national-level test consisting of three stages. In the first two-stage, there will be a written exam and the final stage will be an interview round. The first two written stages will take place in exam centers across the nation. The merit list will be prepared in Part A.

GD and PI Process:

Applicants will be invited for Interview round after clearing Part B. The Interview carries 10 marks which will be commenced by academics and eminent jurists. Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following:

  • Original thinking
  • Reasoning ability
  • Passion for the law and public service

Exam Pattern:

Applicants after filling the form should check the exam pattern of NLSAT 2023. This will inform about the time limit, the number of questions, exam mode, and other important information. Candidates can use the exam pattern to prepare for the exam. Here are the details:

  • The exam will be commenced in the English language
  • The Paper will consist of Objective and subjective type questions
  • Exam time duration is 150 minutes
  • The Paper will have two Parts – Part A Objective section (75 Questions) and Part B Subjective Section – (10 questions + 1 essay type question)
  • In the Objective section of Part A, the candidate will receive 1 mark for each question and there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for incorrect answers
  • Part B Subjective Section, there will be 10 questions for 5 marks each and 1 essay type question for 15 marks.

Documents needed at the time of Exam:

Every candidate is required to enter examination center with an identity card and Admit Card.

Syllabus:

Here is the syllabus to prepare for appearing in NLSAT 2023:

  • English Language: The topics covered in this section include – Comprehension and language, Correcting Incorrect Grammar Sentences, Synonyms & Antonyms, Tenses, Fill in the Blanks, Spotting Grammatical Errors, Active & Passive Voice, Current affairs, Critical reasoning (including logical reasoning and legal aptitude), Legal aptitude/ reasoning
  • Current Affairs: The list of topics included in this section includes – Contemporary events of national and international significance, Arts and culture, International affairs, and Historic events of continuing significance
  • Quantitative Technique: Algebra, Ratios and Proportions, Statistics, Pie Chart, Line Graph, Bar Graph
  • Legal Reasoning: Legal Maxims, Important Supreme Court Judgments, Legal GK, Indian Constitution, Important Acts and Amendments of the Legislature and Current Affairs
  • Logical Reasoning: Analogies, Relationships, Syllogism, Cause & Effect, Premises & Conclusion and Inferences

Result:

The exam result will be announced after the exam gets over. Those who have cleared Part A and Part B will be evaluated. Overall, from 300 candidates, in a ratio of 1:5 of available seats will be shortlisted (from Part A) and from Part B 150 candidates, in the ratio of 1:2.5 of the available seats shortlisted for interview. The final selection list will be created based on the marks attained in Part B and the interview. Only the selected candidates will receive an admission letter and classes will begin from July month.
