AMET Admission 2023: AMET stands for Academy of Maritime Education and Training. It releases the notification for AMET Entrance Exam 2023. Interested candidates may apply for admission via offline or online mode. The exam conducting authority will commence the entrance test for admission to the undergraduate engineering programme. AMET Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Check the course wise eligibility criteria of AMET Entrance Exam 2023 given below:

For B.E/B.Tech Programmes:

  • B.E Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering: Applicant must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There will be 5% relaxation to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates.
  • B.E Petroleum Engineering: Candidate must have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology with at least 50% aggregate marks. However, SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates need 45% marks only.
  • B.E. Mechanical Engineering: candidate must have done class XII or an equivalent exam with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The 5% relaxation is given to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates. Besides this, the candidate must have acquired at least 50% marks in English in 10 or 10+2.
  • B.E. Electrical Electronics Engineering: Applicant must have cleared class XII or an equivalent examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC, ST and OBC- NCL category candidates. Also, note that an entrant should be 25 years of age during the classes.
  • B.Tech. in Food Processing Technology: Applicant must have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology with at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • B.E Mining Engineering: Candidate must have cleared 10+2 or an equivalent exam with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics together. The 5% relaxation is given to SC, ST and OBC- NCL candidates. The candidate also must have attained a minimum 50% marks in English in class 10th or 12th.
  • B.E. Marine Engineering: Candidate must have cleared 10+2 or an equivalent exam with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition to this, 50% marks in English is mandatory to score. The candidate’s age limit should be 25 at least. Kindly note that the candidate should be physically fit, the eyesight should be perfect.

For M.E:

  • M.E. Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering: Entrant must be a graduate in Naval Architecture, Ship Building, Petroleum, Marine Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, and Production & Industrial Engineering.
  • M.E. Petroleum Engineering: Candidate must be an undergraduate degree holder in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, M.Sc. Geology, M.Sc. Geophysics and Petroleum Engineering.
  • M.E. Thermal & Fluid Engineering: Applicant must have cleared B.E/B.Tech with at least 60% marks in any of the disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • M.E. Power Systems: To apply for M.E. Power Systems, the applicant must have attained the degree of graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering -Marine, Marine Engineering, Naval Arch and Offshore Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Harbour Engineering.
  • M.E. Structural Engineering and Construction: To apply for this course, the candidate must have cleared B.E./ B.Tech. with at least 55% marks in any of the following disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering or Civil and Construction Engineering.

For M.B.A:

M.B.A. Shipping & Logistics Management:

  • An applicant must have a passed degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks

Or,

  • Candidate must be a mariner holding any of the following professional qualifications acquired after the minimum duration of study as well as training of 6 years after class XII leading to:
  1. a) Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency.

Or,

  1. b) First Class Motor or Steam or Combined (Chief Engineer) Certificate of Competency issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India or its counterparts in other countries.

AMET Admission 2023 Application Process:

The application process for AMET Entrance Exam 2023 is both an online and offline process.

To fill the form online, applicants are required to go to the application portal. After this, register yourself and fill all the crucial information personal and educational information. Now, upload the documents and submit the fee along with the filled application form. It is suggested to take the print of the application form for further reference.

To fill the form offline, download the application form and take a print of it. Fill in all the fields in the application form and submit it along with the relevant documents to the institute.

Application Fee:

The Application fee for the AMET entrance exam 2023 can be paid via net banking or Demand Draft. Candidates of all categories will pay ₹ 1000 as an application fee.

Exam Admit Card:

The exam authority will release the admit card/hall ticket via online mode. Use the login credentials to download the admit card. The hall ticket/admit card consisted of candidates and exam details. Without admit card, the candidate won’t be permitted to enter the examination hall.

Steps to Download Admit Card:

  1. First go to the AMET 2023 official website
  2. Now, click the admit card download link
  3. Login using the login credentials
  4. The admit card will appear on the screen
  5. Before downloading the admit card, make sure to check the information carefully and correctly.
  6. In case of any discrepancy, contact the admission authorities immediately.

For B.E/B.Tech Programmes:

  • The examination will be commenced in the online mode
  • The paper will be consisted of objective-type questions

For M.E:

  • Paper will be in the online mode

  • Questions will appear from the syllabus of Higher Secondary/Under Graduate Syllabus plus Aptitude, Reasoning, Current Affairs and English.

Exam Result:

Check the examination result of AMET Entrance Exam 2023 from the official website. The result will be declared from the official website and based on the marks acquired in the entrance test. For those who have applied for M.E and M.B.A programmes, the rank list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying undergraduate exam and in the entrance exam.

However, in the case of M.B.A programme, the two rank lists will be released. The first list will be for applicants appeared in the entrance test and the other list will be for CAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / JMET / TANCET qualified applicants who are applicable to get direct admission and they don’t need to appear in the entrance exam.

Counselling:

The counseling will be an Offline process and will be commenced in Tamil Nad, Kanathur. Those who have cleared the entrance test will appear for an interview or counseling. M.E and B.E./B.Tech programmes admission is a two-stage process which includes written tests and interview/Counseling. Candidates are required to appear for the interview with the original and photocopies of the documents. Those who are received the higher rank will be given preference during the seat allotment.

Candidates shortlisted for MBA will appear in the Group Discussion and personal interview in the offline mode. Medical Fitness test will also be commended for programmes such as B.E. Marine Engineering.
