AP SET 2023: Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test is organized by Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam for the recruitment of employees for the Government of Andhra Pradesh for postings of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in the state. The official web page of APSET says “there is a lot of requirement of Assistant Professors/Lecturers via direct recruitment/promotions in Universities and Academic institutions in newly formed Andhra Pradesh”. AP SET 2023 Application Form:

The steps to fill the APSET 2023 Application Form are explained below –

First of all, aspirants need to go to the official website of the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test and click on the ‘Registration’ tab

AP SET 2023 Register:

  • Fill in the required information to register for APSET.
  • Candidates need to enter a password of their choice.
  • Note that name, father’s name, date of birth, email ID and mobile number cannot be changed.
  • On successful registration, email ID and password will be sent to candidates’ registered email ID.
  • Candidates need to log in with the email ID and password to fill the application form
  • Candidates need to fill in their personal details and educational qualifications in the application form for the exam. Details to be filled in an exam might include-

  • Candidates need to enter their choice of exam center

Upload signature and photograph

  • Further, candidates need to upload their scanned photograph as well as signature as per the dimension and size shared by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
  • The file size of the photograph should be between 15kb to 50kb
  • The file signature should be between 5kb to 20kb

AP SET 2023 Application Fee:

  • In order to successfully register, aspirants need to pay the below-mentioned application fee:

APSET 2023 Eligibility:

Acceptability as a criterion for the applicants need to have in  to be APSET 2023 Eligible to turn up for the admission examination is as quoted below:

  • Applicants must have gained at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in their post-graduate degree or corresponding examination in distinction from any educational institution/college that is sanctioned by UGC. Applicants belonging to reserved categories such as OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD are eligible to apply if they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in their Post grad’s degree or equivalent exam.
  • The applicant who is appearing for their Post Grad’s final year’s examination and the result of the examination is awaiting can be applied for the examination. But such applicants would be given conditional admittance and they need to provide the mark-sheet in a set duration.
  • The applicant who owns a Ph.D. degree and people who have finished their Post graduate’s examination by September 1991 (regardless of the day when the outcome was announced) will be eligible for 5% relaxation in cumulative (that is, from 55% to 50%) for the exam.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for candidates is void applying for the post of Assistant Professor.

Unit-I Teaching Aptitude:

  • Teaching: Concept, Objectives, Understanding, and Reflective), Levels of teaching (Memory, Characteristics, and basic requirements.
  • Learner’s characteristics: Characteristics of adolescent and adult learners (Academic, Social, Emotional and Cognitive), Individual differences.
  • Factors affecting teaching related to Teacher, Learner, Support material, Instructional facilities, Learning environment, and Institution.
  • Methods of teaching in Institutions of higher learning: Teacher centered vs. Learner-centred methods; Off-line vs. On-line methods (Swayam, Swayamprabha, MOOCs, etc.).
  • Teaching Support System: Traditional, Modern, and ICT based.
  • Evaluation Systems: Elements and Types of evaluation, Evaluation in Choice Based Credit System in Higher education, Computer-based testing, Innovations in evaluation systems.

Unit-II Research Aptitude:

  • Research: Meaning, Types, and Characteristics, Positivism and Post-positivistic approach to research.
  • Methods of Research: Experimental, Descriptive, Historical, Qualitative, and Quantitative methods.
  • Steps of Research.
  • Thesis and Article writing: Format and styles of referencing.
  • Application of ICT in research.
  • Research ethics.

Unit-III Comprehension:

  • A passage of text is given. Questions are asked from the passage to be answered.

Unit-IV Communication:

  • Communication: Meaning, types, and characteristics of communication.
  • Effective communication: Verbal and Non-verbal, Inter-Cultural and group communications, Classroom communication.
  • Barriers to effective communication.
  • Mass-Media and Society.

Unit-V Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude:

  • Types of reasoning.
  • Number series, Letter series, Codes, and Relationships.
  • Mathematical Aptitude (Fraction, Time & Distance, Ratio, Proportion and Percentage, Profit and Loss, Interest and Discounting, Averages, etc.).

Unit-VI Logical Reasoning:

  • Understanding the structure of arguments: argument forms, the structure of categorical propositions, Mood and Figure, Formal and Informal fallacies, Uses of language, Connotations, and denotations of terms, Classical Square of opposition.
  • Evaluating and distinguishing deductive and inductive reasoning.
  • Analogies.
  • Venn diagram: Simple and multiple uses for establishing the validity of arguments.
  • Indian Logic: Means of knowledge.
  • Pramanas: Pratyaksha (Perception), Anumana (Inference), Upamana (Comparison), Shabda (Verbal testimony), Arthapatti (Implication), and Anupalabddhi (Non-apprehension).
  • Structure and kinds of Anumana (inference), Vyapti (invariable relation), Hetvabhasas (fallacies of inference).

Unit-VII Data Interpretation:

  • Sources, acquisition, and classification of Data.
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Data.
  • Graphical representation (Bar-chart, Histograms, Pie-chart, Table-chart, and Line-chart) and mapping of Data.
  • Data Interpretation.
  • Data and Governance.

Unit-VIII Information and Communication Technology (ICT):

  • ICT: General abbreviations and terminology.
  • Basics of the Internet, Intranet, E-mail, Audio, and Video-conferencing.
  • Digital initiatives in higher education.

Unit-IX People, Development and Environment:

  • Development and environment: Millennium development and Sustainable development goals.
  • Human and environment interaction: Anthropogenic activities and their impacts on the environment.
  • Environmental issues: Local, Regional and Global; Air pollution, Water pollution, Soil pollution, Noise pollution, Waste (solid, liquid, biomedical, hazardous, electronic), Climate change and its Socio-Economic and Political dimensions.
  • Impacts of pollutants on human health.
  • Natural and energy resources: Solar, Wind, Soil, Hydro, Geothermal, Biomass, Nuclear, and Forests.
  • Natural hazards and disasters: Mitigation strategies.
  • Environmental Protection Act (1986), National Action Plan on Climate Change, International agreements/efforts -Montreal Protocol, Rio Summit, Convention on Biodiversity, Kyoto Protocol, Paris Agreement, International Solar Alliance.

  • Institutions of higher learning and education in ancient India.

  • Value education and environmental education.
  • Policies, Governance, and Administration.

NOTE:(I) Five questions each carrying 2 marks are to be set from each Module.(II)Whenever graphical/pictorial question(s) are set for sighted candidates, a passage followed by an equal number of questions and weights be set for visually impaired candidates.

APSET 2023 Hall ticket:

Check the steps below to download the admit card:

  • Visit the official website of the exam.
  • Click on the “Admittance care ticket” link.
  • You need to enter the login details – Email ID, Password & Security Key.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Download admit card.
  • Take a clear print of the hall ticket.

Andhra Pradesh SET 2023 Results:

The Andhra Pradesh SET 2023 Results would be declared Post evaluation and would be available on the web portal immediately.

You need to login in and look for the result notification in your profile. You would be notified soon enough about the same via an SMS and If you are selected you would be contacted as well.
