WB SET 2023: WB SET or West Bengal State Eligibility Test is an entrance test commenced by the West Bengal College Service Commission. The West Bengal College Service Commission was established by an Act passed at the Legislative Assembly of West Bengal in 1979. The exam takes place every year to recruit Assistant Professors in the university and colleges of the West Bengal state. WB SET 2023 Application Form:

After checking the eligibility criteria, you may apply for the test. Here are the steps to apply:

  • First, go to the official website of WB SET and click on the ‘Apply Now’ tab.
  • Now, register yourself by providing basic information such as mobile number, name, date of birth etc.
  • You will receive the registration number on your registered mobile number and email ID.
  • Fill in the educational, Personal, contact, and other important details in the form.
  • Upload the latest photo, signature, and other documents.
  • Pay the Application Fee.
  • Take the print of the application form for further reference.

Application Fee:

The application process comes to an end once you submit the Application Fee. Pay the application fee via any of the modes such as credit card/ debit card/internet banking. Here is the category wise application fee information:

  • General: Rs.1200
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer)/EWS: Rs.600
  • SC/ST/PWD/Transgender: Rs.300

WB SET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Check the WB SET 2023 eligibility criteria before applying for WB SET 2023:

  • Applicants must have obtained a minimum of 55% in Master’s degree from any of the UGC accredited universities/institutions. While OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates must have attained at least 50% marks.
  • Students in their final year may also apply for the examination.
  • If you are possessed with the degree of Ph.D. and completed Master’s will be given relaxation of 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.
  • Besides this, you can apply for WB SET only for the subject in which you have completed your post-graduation.
  • Those who have completed UGC/CSIR JRF exam before 1991 are hardly required to appear for WB SET 2023.
  • Candidates need to appear for WB SET of their Post Graduation only and in case, if the subject is not included in the subject list then applicants mat appear in UGC NET/Joint CSIR-UGC Test commenced twice a year.

Exam Pattern:

After filling the WB SET 2023 application form and application fee, start preparing for the test. In this regard, if you have complete information about the exam pattern then it will be easy for you to make the preparation in the right direction. Here are the crucial details:

  • There will be two papers Paper I and Paper II
  • Both of them will be commenced in the offline mode.
  • Paper I will have 50 Objective Type Questions for 2 marks each.
  • Paper II will have 100 Objective Type Questions for 2 marks each.
  • There will be no negative marking
  • Paper I aim at testing reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate and common to all the candidates.
  • WB SET Paper II will have questions connected to the specialized subject you have chosen in Post Graduation. This Paper is different for all 33 disciplines.

  • Communication- Effective communication, Barriers to effective communication, Mass-Media, and Society
  • Logical Reasoning- Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning
  • Data Interpretation- Questions based on mathematics studied until class X
  • Information and Communication Technology- Basics of the Internet and Intranet, E-mail, Audio and Video-conferencing and Digital initiatives in higher education.

Paper-II:

Admit Card:
