DU Admission 2023: The University of Delhi also well known as Delhi University or DU is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. Delhi University Released the online Exam Form:

Delhi University has released the Examination Form for the coming semester examination 2023. Here are the steps to fill the Examination Form:

  • Go to the official website of DU i.e, www.du.ac.in
  • Then select the name of your college.
  • After that fill in the details like the name of your University roll number, your full name, and date of birth to login.
  • Then a window will open.
  • After that click on the fill examination form button and fill in the provided details.
  • Then submit the Form.
  • After submitting, take a printout of the examination form.

DU 2023 Application Form:

DUET 2023 has been Released the DU Form 2023 for Entrance Examinations for UG & PG Courses on 20th June 2023. Candidates who want to apply for the exam, first check the eligibility criteria. The eligible candidates can fill their application form through online mode only. Candidates need to fill the details like personal, education, address, etc. in the application form. Then upload the scanned passport size photograph and signature in the given format.

UG Courses Application Form:

The university will not conduct any entrance exams for admission to UG courses. The candidates applying for UG programmes will have to fill the online Pre-admission form for all categories (General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD). There are two separate common Pre-Admission forms – one for General/OBC and the other for SC/ST/PWD.  There will be no pre-admission at the college level.

Steps to Apply for DU PG Admission 2023:

All the Candidates will be supposed to fill the admission entrance examination online from the official website of Delhi University 2023. Follow below Detailed Steps:

  • Visit the official DU Website www.admission.du.ac.in
  • Select the option of the application form and click “Apply Online“.
  • Select the course you want to enroll for.
  • Enter all the required information (Candidate’s Name, Date of Birth, Parents Name, and Educational Qualification).
  • Filling all the required information Select “Save and Go to Payment“.
  • Fill the Delhi University form fee using any of the payment methods.
  • After filling the form fee you shall get an acknowledgment receipt which you should print for future reference.

Delhi University Eligibility Criteria:

For UG Courses:

All the departments under Delhi University except the ones offering inter-disciplinary or professional keep 50% of the quota for direct admission. The admission on the rest of the seats will be decided on the process of entrance exam and the personal interview.

Age Limit: No minimum age is set by the examination cell for admission into courses in DU except for the courses regulated by some external bodies such as the Medical Council of India and Bar Council of India and more.

For PG Courses:

Here can you can find below the Delhi University PG Eligibility Criteria for all courses such as the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Art, Faculty of Commerce & Faculty of Law:

Faculty of Science:

  • M.Sc. (Zoology): Candidate must have a degree in B.Sc. (Hons) Zoology/Applied Zoology from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% Marks.
  • M.Sc. (Botany): Candidates must have a degree in B.Sc. (Hons) Botany from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% Marks.
  • M.Sc. (Chemistry): in B.Sc. (Hons) A chemistry degree from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% Marks in the Main required Subjects.
  • M.Sc. (informatics): Degree in BE/BSC/B. Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a state-recognized University can do.
  • M.Sc. (Geology): Degree in B.Sc. (Hons) Geology From Delhi University with a minimum requirement of 60% marks in the main required subjects. 5% Relaxation will be allotted to for SC/ST/PwD candidates for the courses mentioned above. Admission Process for M.SC to be done based on the Graduation Marks and Entrance Test.

Faculty of Arts:

  • M.A Applied Psychology: Candidate must have possessed a degree in BA (Hons) with Applied Psychology from Delhi University with a minimum of 60% of marks.
  • M.A. Buddhist: Candidate must have possessed a degree in any discipline from Delhi University with a minimum of 40% marks.
  • M.A English: (Admission on Basis of Graduation Percentage) Candidate must have possessed a degree of BA (Hons) with 60% minimum marks for the general category students. It is 54% Marks for the students belong to OBC/SC/ST/PWD from Delhi or any other state-affiliated university.
  • (Admission when the candidate appear in the entrance examination): Candidate must have a degree of BA (Hons) with a minimum percentage of 45 %( which may differ under some circumstances) for the general category candidates and40 %(which may differ under some circumstances) for the candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PWD from DU or any other state-affiliated university.
  • M.A French/German/Italian/Hispanic : (For this course-admission will be based on the Graduation Percentage). Graduation from any discipline with a minimum percentage of 40 %( which may differ under some circumstances) from Delhi University or any other state-affiliated University. (Admission when the candidate sit in the entrance examination):
  • Graduation is a particular subject with a percentage of a minimum of 40% marks from Delhi University or any other state-recognized University.
  • M.A Hindi : (Admission on Basis of Graduation Percentage) Candidate must have possessed a degree in BA (Hons) with a minimum percentage of 62 %( which may differ under some circumstances) marks from a state-affiliated University.
    (Admission when gone through the process of entrance exam): 50% minimum percentage of marks in graduation in the subjects.
  • M.A Psychology: The Candidate must have passed BA (psychology) with a minimum of 60% Marks from Delhi University for seeking direct admission.
  • Philosophy M.A: Candidate must have possessed a degree in BA (Philosophy) with a minimum of 60% Marks from Delhi University.
  • M.A Sanskrit: (For this course admission will decide based on Graduation Percentage) Candidate must have a degree in BA (Hons) Sanskrit with a minimum of 60 %( which may differ under some circumstances) from Delhi University. (Admission when gone through the process of entrance exam): BA (Hons) degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks from Delhi University or any other state-affiliated University.
  • M.A Punjabi: Candidate must have a degree in BA in any of the subjects with a minimum of 40% from Delhi University or any other state-recognized University.

Faculty of Commerce:

  • M.Com :(Admission here will decide based on the graduation Percentage) Candidate must have done under graduation in the concerned qualifying examination from DU with 65 %( which may differ under some circumstances) for General Category. It is 58.5 % for OBC candidates and 60% for the candidates belong to SC/ST/PWD.
  • Admission, when gone through the process of the entrance exam, the Candidate must have passed graduation in required subjects in the qualifying examination from Delhi University or any other state-affiliated University. The percentage required for general candidates will be 50 % and 45% for the OBC candidates. It will be 45% for the SC/ST/PWD candidates.
  • M.A (Hons) Economics: Candidate should have a degree in required subjects in the qualifying examination from Delhi University or any other state-affiliated university. For the general category students, the percentage would be 50% minimum. For the OBC and PWD candidates, it would be 45%.

Faculty of Law:

  • L.L.M: Candidate must have passed 3 years/ 5 Year LLB with a minimum percentage of 50% for General and 45% for OBC/SC/ST/PWD Candidate. They will get selected based on the L.L.M Entrance Test.

Exam Pattern:

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted through online mode.
  • Language Medium: Paper will be in both English and Hindi Language.
  • Time Duration: The time duration of the Exam will be 2 hours.
  • Type of Questions: The paper will be asked multiple-choice questions.
  • Number of Questions: The paper will contain a total of 100 questions.
  • Marking Scheme: +4 marks will be given for each correct answer.
  • Negative marking: For every incorrect answer, -1 mark will be deducted.

Course wise Exam Pattern:

Indian languages: Courses including MA Bengali, MA Tamil, MA comparative Indian Literature, MPhil comparative Indian literature, and Ph.D. in modern Indian languages are being imparted by the Delhi University for all of these an entrance exam will be conducted and candidates need to study methodology, origin, literature, authors, etc for the same.

MA Journalism: The entrance exam will be a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format of total of 400 marks having 100 questions of four marks each. There will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. Candidates will be assessed over general knowledge, current affairs, and analytical and comprehension skills. From this year, the university has introduced a Master’s programme in Journalism.

MA Hindi: Candidates will be asses based on their knowledge of Hindi literature. Questions will be asked from Hindi language and culture heritage, literature, and modes and concepts of the language.

MA Punjabi: Punjabi culture and literature, advanced Punjabi conversation, Punjabi dramas and plays, modern age Punjabi poets, culture and heritage, literature, fair and festivals, Punjabi language, grammar, and Gurmukhi.

MSc Mathematics: An MCQ-based test with 100 questions each for two hours duration will be conducted wherein candidates will be assessed on mathematical skills, mathematics education, general English language, reasoning and mental ability, and general awareness.

MA East Asian Studies: The exams will test the candidate on general knowledge, current affairs, and knowledge of East Asia.

MA Japanese: Questions will be asked from grammar, Kani, vocabulary, expressions in the Japanese language, and general knowledge about Japan.

Bachelor of physical education (BPEd): The entrance will be based on a written exam and sports proficiency award with a weightage of 60 and 40 marks, respectively.

MA in lifelong learning: The test will consist of 100 objective type questions. The questions will be related to humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce general Science. Some questions will be related to programmes and Policies for Social Development, Education, Adult, and Continuing Education. General information about the discipline of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning.

MA/MPhil/Ph.D. Political Science: Candidates will have to go through the syllabus for the course taught at the varsity and prepare likewise.

LLB: The test paper will consist of one question paper containing 100 objective-type questions with multiple choice answers relating to English language comprehension, analytical abilities, legal awareness and aptitude, and general knowledge.

LLM: The test shall be of two hours duration and the paper will consist of one question paper containing 100 objective-type questions with multiple choice answers relating to Constitutional Law of India, Jurisprudence, Law of Contracts, Sale of Goods, Law of Torts, Consumer Protection, Criminal Law, Family Law, Public International Law, Intellectual Property Law, Cyber Law, Environment Law, Company Law, and Partnership. Also, a few questions may address the contemporary legal issue.

Ph.D. law: The test shall be of two hours in duration. The test paper shall consist of 50 objective type questions. The language of the entrance test shall be English. The syllabus for the entrance test will consist of 50 percent questions on research aptitude/methodology and 50 % subject-specific questions.

MA Philosophy: Candidates need to check the previous year question papers and syllabus of the course to prepare for the test.

BEd Special Education: Candidates will be enrolled based on the exam as well as a merit by 50 percent weightage to each. General Awareness, reasoning, language, and subject knowledge up to class 10 in social science, math, and science.

MSc Biochemistry: The syllabus includes essential molecules of life, proteins and enzymes, metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids and nucleotides, cell biology, membrane Biology, and Bioenergetics Human Physiology and Hormones, gene organization, replication, DNA repair, transcription, and gene expression, concepts in genetics, genetic engineering and biotechnology, and immunology.

Delhi University 2023 Syllabus:

For the UG and PG Programmes candidates can check the online Syllabus for Delhi University Admission 2023:

Delhi University UG Syllabus will be from the 11th and 12th level books. The Delhi University PG Syllabus will be from Graduation level books. Before the preparation candidates collect the syllabus for UG and PG Programmes. Authority will be updated online.

Admit Card:

Candidates can download the Delhi University 2023 Admit Card online. The Admit Card will be available on the official website for the UG & PG Programmes candidates can download the admit card on August 2023. University will not send the admit card by courier or Post. The Admit Card contains the details like candidate’s name, roll number, exam venue, exam date, etc. Candidates carry admit card with one ID Proof.

  • Visit the official website link.
  • Then click on your online registration account.
  • Enter your details and click on the ‘Login’ button.
  • Then click on the ‘DU Admit Card 2023’ link.
  • Now download the Admit Card & take the print out.

Delhi University Answer Key:

After the exam, the University will publish the Answer Key through online mode. The Answer Key has been released on September 2023 for UG Entrance Exam. If candidates find any error in the Answer key, they can register their complaints after the uploading of the Answer key through the mails till September 2023.

Delhi University 2023 (DUET) Answer Key for PG Based Entrance Exam has been released in October 2023. Candidates can challenge the key submitted till October 2023.

Delhi University Admission 2023 Result:

University will release the Delhi University 2023 Result by online mode. Candidates can check the UG & PG Result official website. UG Result has been announced on October 2023.

Steps to Check Delhi University Entrance Result:

  • Visit the official website.
  • Then click on that link & a web page has been displayed on the computer screen.
  • Search the respective course & click on it.
  • The result appears in a pdf format.
  • Then check your DU Entrance Exam Result 2023.
  • Take a printout copy of it for further references.

Delhi University 2023 Cut Off:

DU will release the cut off marks through online mode. It will be announced separately for various programmes offered in Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. The cut off will be prepared by the University based on various factors like:

  • Marks secured in the entrance test/12th level
  • Number of seats available
  • Number of candidates appearing for the test
  • Previous year cut off trends etc.

Admission procedure 2023:

  • Delhi University PG Courses Admission will decide based on the Marks Secured in the Entrance Examinations in 2023. Plus Marks obtained in Under-Graduation 2023.
  • The Answer Key will release on the Official Website For various courses by which students who appeared for the entrance so that students get a knack of the scores they going to obtain in the examination.
  • Candidates can apply for the admission process through online mode only. All Faculties and Departments will have to report to DU because all the online Admissions are centralized.
  • The final admission process for many courses relies on the combination of both the Under-Graduation Marks and the marks secured in the Delhi University Admission 2023 Entrance Examination.
