IACS Kolkata Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc Admission 2023

IACS Kolkata offers admission to the 5-year Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc program. Candidates seeking admission to the integrated UG-PG program can register themselves on the official website of the college once the applications forms are released. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the college to appear for the entrance examination.

Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have received a minimum of a first division/60 percent (55 percent for Reserved Category) or equivalent grade in both 10 and 10+2 levels to be considered for admission.

Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc Selection Process

  • Eligible students must take the UPST UG Pre-Interview Screening Test to be considered for admission to the program.
  • UPST is a computer-based test that includes multiple-choice questions in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and either computer science or biology.
  • Those who pass the test are invited to an interview, and the top 60 students are chosen.
  • Candidates with a JEE Main or NEET score of up to 8000 would be invited directly to the interview phase. These applicants are not required to take the UPST.

IACS Kolkata M.Sc-Ph.D. Admission 2023

IACS Kolkata offers admission to the 5-year Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D program. Candidates seeking admission to the integrated program can register themselves on the official website of the college once the applications forms are released. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the college to appear for the entrance examination. The total seat intake is 30, and candidates would have to appear for the MPST and interview round.

Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

A bachelor’s degree in science or engineering with first-class or 60 percent marks (55 percent or equivalent for Reserved categories) and first division in 10 and 10+2 levels is the minimal qualification for the program. Candidates in the final year can also apply for the program.

Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D. Selection Process

Candidates must pass the institute’s Master’s Pre-Interview Screening Test to be considered for admission to the M.Sc-Ph.D program. Those who pass the exam are required to attend an interview. The final merit list will be released by the college after the successful conclusion of the interview round.

To sit for the admission examination, candidates must meet the college’s eligibility requirements.

Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have earned a Master’s degree with a grade point average of 55 percent or above (50 percent for Reserved candidates).
  • They must also have passed the UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, JEST, or similar national level exams.

Ph.D. Selection Process

Admission to the Ph.D. programme is based on the candidate’s academic record and performance in the UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/JEST examinations. Candidates will be invited to the interview phase depending on their performance on the entrance exam. The academic record, admission exam result, written test, and interview all play a role in the final merit list.

IACS Kolkata Scholarships

Students in the combined B.Sc – M.Sc Program who are in their fourth semester are eligible for a monthly stipend from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science. Students enrolled in the Integrated M.Sc – Ph.D. Programme are entitled to a stipend of INR 12,000 per month for the first two years of their studies, providing they achieve the required CGPA standards during their first semesters.

The Junior Research Fellowship is granted to students who have finished their Master’s degree and satisfy the relevant criteria according to the institution’s regulations.

Candidates seeking admission to their preferred program must check the below steps to apply for admission:

  • Visit the official website of IACS Kolkata
  • On the right side of the home page, click on the Admission link.
  • Now select ‘Online Application’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Fill out the form with information such as your name, date of birth, phone number, and e-mail address.
  • Candidates will receive their user id and password on their registered e-mail id and contact number, respectively, after completing the form.
  • Fill out the application form after logging in with your login credentials.
  • Make a payment online with a debit/credit card or using net banking.
  • The non-refundable fees are INR 1200 for general category students and INR 600 for SC/ST/PWD applicants.
  • Take a print of the completed application form and save the information.
