UPHESC Recruitment 2023: The Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission conducts the UPHESC Assistant Professor Recruitment Exam every year to recruit assistant professors in different colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment process includes a written examination followed by an interview round. The written exam consists of two sections: general studies (60 marks) and optional subjects (140 marks).

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates willing to take the UPHESC Assistant Professor recruitment exam should fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the commission. The basic eligibility criteria include 55% marks in a master’s degree from a recognised university or institution. The detailed eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • In addition to meeting the requirements listed above, the candidate must also have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) administered by the University Grants Commission or the CSIR, or a test of a similar nature that has been accredited by the UGC at the national level, or the SLET or SET of only the State of Uttar Pradesh, or the candidate must have received a Ph.D. by the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M. Phil. or Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009.
  • For applicants from a scheduled caste, a scheduled tribe, Other Backward Classes (OBC) (non-creamy layer), and Differently Abled, a remission of 5% is permitted at the master’s level.
  • For Ph.D. degree holders who earned their master’s degree before September 19, 1992, there will be a 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50% of the marks).

Selection Process:

Result:

UPHESC result is announced on the official website of the commission after the conclusion of the result. The result includes the scorecard of the candidate and category-wise cutoff. Selected candidates are then called for the UPHESC interview round. Following the interview round, the final merit list is prepared. Candidates are then given the job offer letters as per the final merit list.
