GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) shortened for GCET 2018 is completely a state level examination that commenced by the Directorate of Technical Education or DTE every year. This entrance examination takes place via online mode and in the English language only. The exam is commenced for the admission to the professional Degree courses of Architecture, Technology, Medical (MBBS), Engineering, and Homeopathy within Goa. GCET 2018 – Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants need to have passed Higher Secondary examination with minimum possible 45% of marks for the general category and 40% for the SC/ST category from Goad board or from the equivalent university

Candidate should have studied Physics, English and Mathematics subjects as the main subjects with other subjects such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Biology as the optional subjects.

Candidate must be of 17 years of age before 31st December 2016 for the degree courses in Dentistry, Medicine and Homeopathy

Application Form:

To fill up the application form, follow the given below steps:

  1. Go to the main site http://www.dtegoa.gov.in
  2. Fill in all the details carefully
  3. Take a print out of the application form and submit the form in person at the notified Application Reception Centre according to the centre provided. Along with this, pay the demand draft of Rs.1500/- in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji, and three photographs. Obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee, on the same day.

Fee Structure:

Pay Rs 1500 as the application fee along with the DD. The GCET 2018 Application Fee need to be paid via DD in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, on any Scheduled Bank.

Exam Pattern:

There will be overall 75 questions. Candidates need to complete these questions in the span of two hours.  1 mark will be given for the correct answer and the plus point for candidates is that there will be no negative making at all. For Chemistry (25 Questions), for Physics (25 Questions), and for Mathematics (25 Questions),

Selection Process:

GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) 2018 must have cleared with the 50% of the marks for those who belong to the general category and 40% for those who belong to the categories like SC, ST, and OBC. It is 45% for PH category students.

  • Application form availability (online and Offline): 3rd week of  March 2018
  • Date to collect GCET admit card: 3rd week of March 2018
  • Last date to seek admit card: April 2018
  • GCET Exam date: 2018
  • Result out: 1st week of June 2018
  • Submission of the application: 2nd week of May  2018
  • Commencement of the First round of GCET admission: June 2018
  • Commencement of the Second round of GCET admission: July 2018
