OAVS Admission 2023: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, commonly known as OAVS, imparts formal English Medium education to students from Classes 6th to 10th. OAVS is a 100% government-owned coeducational school known for disseminating education at low fees. OAVS schools are affiliated with the Central Board of School Education (CBSE), and till now the Government of Odhisa has established 314 such schools in the state of Odisha. OAVS Admission 2023 Application Form:

Here are the details about the application process to acquire admission in OAVS schools:

Documents Required for Admission:

Candidates applying for admission to Odhisa Adarsha Vidyalayas need to submit the required documents at the time of filling up the application form. Important documents required by the candidates to apply for admission are:

• School Passing Certificate
• Residential Certificate
• Birth Certificate
• Aadhar Card and other verified documents

Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate must have passed or continued Class V from any institute or school of any block that is recognized by the Government of Odisha. It is to be noted that students are required to produce their residential certification if they have completed/pursued their Class V from any other block other than the home block.
• Students who have completed Class V or even pursued Class V from any private institution (ICSE) board are eligible to apply for the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas provided the institution possesses the Certificate of Recognition (CoR) from the State Government of Odhisa.

Reservation Guidelines:

• The State Government of Odisha provides reservations to students based on caste category and sex.
• As per the reservation guidelines stated on the official website of OAVS, students from SC and ST will get reservations based on the percentage of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the respective block.
• 50% of seats are to be reserved for girls in each category. This is in line with the policy of the Government to promote quality education at a low cost among girls. However, if the seats reserved for girls are remained unfilled, the same will be filled by boys from respective categories.
• Candidates with more than 40% disability and are rightly certified under the Rights of Person with Disabilities Act, 2016 are eligible for the reservation. Students are required to submit the required document along with the application form to claim the reservation. The Government of Odhisa will provide 4% reservation to students belonging to the PwD category.
• The Government of Odisha will also provide 5% reservation to children of employees of State Government and State PSUs belonging to the respective block. If such seats remain vacant, they will be brought under the pool of the General Category.
• Two students will be admitted to OAVS Schools on the recommendation of Hon’ble MLA and District Collector as well. One student will be admitted on the recommendation of Hon’ble MP as well.

Selection Process:

• Admission to OAVs will be done based on the entrance exam conducted by OAVS under the direct supervision of Principals of OAVs. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be able to apply for admission to OAVs. Also, candidates must meet the reservation benchmarks to claim the reservation for admission to the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas.
• After the conduct of the entrance exam, subject teachers will evaluate the answer sheet submitted by the students. The answer key will be evaluated under the supervision of the Principal/District Education Officer (DEO).
• Once the evaluation of the answer sheet is done, the Common Marks List (CML) and Select List will be published on the official website of the District website and respective OAV. Candidates clearing the cutoff will be able to take admission to their Block OAV. Authorities will also release the waiting list in case candidates having their names in the Select List do not apply for admission.

Entrance Exam Pattern & Syllabus:

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has designed a fixed syllabus and exam pattern of the entrance exam for admission to OAVS schools. The exam pattern for the entrance exam is as follows:

• There will be a total of 52 questions. Each question will carry 1 mark each.
• The duration of the exam would be 2 hrs.
• Questions in the entrance exam will be asked in English and Odia language only.
• There will be only objective type of questions in the entrance exam paper.
• Questions will comprise all major subjects like Mathematics, Social Science, Science, and English based on the Class V syllabus.

Lateral Entry:

OAVS allows lateral entry in only Class VII, VIII, and IX. The Lateral Entry is provided only if there are vacant seats for students. OAVS will conduct the entrance exam under the supervision of the principal of the school and a merit list will be prepared for each category as per the vacancies. The entrance test will include questions comprising Mathematics, Social Science, Science, English, and Odia based on Class V, VII, and VIII syllabus. The total duration of the entrance test will be 3 hrs and will constitute 100 questions.
