AP NMMS 2023: The Directorate of Government Examination, Andhra Pradesh released the notification of AP NMMS and the interested applicants may apply for Andhra Pradesh NMMS 2023 whose annual income is less than Rs.1, 50,000 as per the income certificate issued by MRO. The State Level National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination for Class VIII commences every year. AP NMMS 2023 Application Form:

The eligible applicants need to apply online mode via the official website. Before filling out the form, it is advised to go through the guidelines.

  • First, create a new ID on the website and then fill out the application form to appear in the entrance test.
  • After this, enter important information in the application form.
  • Make sure that all the information you add is correct and genuine.
  • Lastly, pay the application fee and submit the application form.

Application Fee:

Pay the Application fee to complete the application process. The amount to be paid is Rs.100/- for OC/BC students & Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PH students. Pay the application fee via SBI collect only.

AP NMMS 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Before applying for AP NMMS 2023, all the candidates are suggested to check the eligibility criteria. Here are the crucial details:

  • Only those who have completed class VII will appear in AP NMMS 2023.
  • Those who have attained a minimum of 55% of marks (OC/BC), 50% marks (SC/ST/PH), or B+ grade for all categories in the class VII Exam may apply.
  • Applicants studying only in ZP/Government/Local Body/Government aided schools may apply.
  • Parental annual income (both mother and father) is below Rs.1, 50,000/- from all sources for which candidates need to provide the latest original Annual Income Certificate issued by the MRO, in case of Private employee and certificate issued by the employer in case of Government employee may apply.
  • Students studying in class VIII class in A. P. Residential High Schools, A.P. Social Welfare Residential Schools, A. P. Tribal Welfare Residential High Schools, Model schools with the residential facility, Government Ashram High Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and in Private unaided Schools cannot apply for AP NMMS 2023
  • Applicants need to submit the original caste certificate (issued by the MRO) to the Headmaster along with the original VI class Pass Memo of Marks.

Selection Process:

Each state/union territory will conduct its test to select the students for the award of the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The State Level Examination consisted of two tests:

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Mental Ability Test:

It is for 90 marks consists of multiple-choice questions testing verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive abilities such as reasoning and critical thinking. The questions in the test are based on analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures, etc.

Scholastic Aptitude Test:

This test consisted of 90 multiple-choice questions consisting of subjects such as Science, Social Studies and Mathematics studied in classes VII and VIII.

Exam Pattern:

Before you appear in the test, check the examination pattern to prepare for the test accordingly.

  • Mental Ability Test (M.A.T): 90 marks Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Exam Duration: 3 Hours
  • Scholastic Ability Test (S.A.T): 90 marks consisted of Social Science, Science, and Mathematics of class VII & VIII. Each question carries 1 mark.

The qualifying percentage is according to the category, general Category-40%, BC-35%, SC/ST/PH-25%.

Marks Distribution:

  • MAT: 90 questions for 90 marks
  • SAT: 90 questions for 90 marks

Admit Card:

The admit card or hall ticket for AP NMMS 2023 will be released online. Candidates are suggested to go to the official website and download the admit card using the application number and date of birth. It is the most important document for every candidate. Once you receive the admit card, check the information mentioned in it such as the applicant’s details and exam information.

Answer Key:

The answer key will be released on the website and applicants can check it to have a complete idea of the marks they are likely to achieve.

Cut off Marks:

The cut-off marks will be released after the result declaration. Applicants must have cleared both the tests MAT and SAT with a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST category students, this cut-off will be 32% marks.

Important Information: The awardee will get the sum of Rs.6000/- annually for which the awardee will have to open the joint account with their parents in any SBI branch or any Nationalized Banks having a core banking facility/ESC facility. Once the Bank account number list is provided by the states, the Ministry for Human Resource Development, New Delhi will start sending the scholarships and send a list to the SBI, New Delhi for disbursement of scholarships to the awardees. The candidate will receive the scholarship amount via SBI, New Delhi quarterly directly in their account.
