SSC CPO 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality/ Citizenship:

The candidate has to be a citizen of India or a refugee from Bhutan, Nepal, or Tibet who came to India before 1st, January 1962 with the purpose to settle here and can also apply for the examination. A person of Indian origin who migrated from Sri Lanka, Burma, Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Zaire, Zambia, Malawi, East African Countries of Uganda, Ethiopia, and Vietnam and come here to settle permanently in India can also apply for the exam.

SSC CPO Age Limit 2023:

The minimum age limit to apply for the examination should be 20 and the maximum should be 25 years as of Jan 2023. There will be age relaxation for SC / ST. The upper age relaxation is 5 years and the lower is 3 years.

Educational Qualifications:

Those who have done their graduation can apply for the Posts. If you are a male candidate then you can also apply for the post of sub-inspector in Delhi Police but on the condition that you must be having your Driving License for LMV or light motor vehicle and carry the license on the day of the Physical Test.

SSC CPO 2023 Selection Procedure:

Those who are interested to become Sub-Inspector (SI) or Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and IO in NCB can also apply for these posts. The candidate has to go through Physical-Efficiency Tests, Physical Standard tests, Written Examination, Medical Examination, and lastly Interview.

Written Examination:

In the written examination there will be two papers for every paper. Each paper comprises 200 questions with 200 marks. The exam duration will be for two hours. There will be Objective Multiple Choice Questions. The language used in the question paper includes Hindi and English for parts A, B, and C in Paper I. Every incorrect answer means a reduction of 0.25 marks each. Marks that the candidate attains in this paper will be considered as screening criteria for candidates appearing for PET/ Medical Examination.

Physical Endurance Test (PET):

Those who attain qualifying marks in Paper I will get shortlisted for Physical Endurance Test (PET) as well as medical tests. Those who qualify for PST/PET will have Paper II.

Criteria of Physical Efficiency for Male Candidates:

  • Running 1.6 kilometers race in 6.5 minutes
  • Running 100 meters race in 16 seconds
  • High Jump of 1.2 meters in 3 chances
  • Long Jump – 3.65 m in three chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 meters in 3 chances

Criteria of Physical Efficiency for Female Candidates:

  • Running 100 m race in 18 seconds or less than 18 seconds
  • Running 800 m for 4 minutes
  • High Jump: 3 feet in 3 chances
  • Long Jump: 9 feet in 3 chances

Personality Test/ Interview:

Those who qualify for Paper I, PET, and Paper II written examination will be called next for Personality Test/ Interview.

Medical Examination:

Those who qualify Physical Efficiency Test will get medically examined by MO or Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon to Grade I of any Central/State Government Hospital. Those candidates who are fit for the medical test and qualify for the written examination are required to appear in the Interview round. Once all these tests get over, the commission will draw a Merit List and those candidates who pass the tests are suggested for seeking an appointment as per the availability of the seats. Those who are selected for the posts like SI and ASI are required to pass the 7 obstacle events mentioned below. In case of failure, they might not be entered into the Force:

  • Monkey Crawl;
  • Jumping on the Horizontal Board;
  • Jumping over the Vertical Board;
  • Hold the rope and jump from the Board.
  • Parallel Rope;
  • The Tarzan Swing;
  • Vertical Rope.

Syllabus for Paper-I:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: Questions for verbal & non-verbal type. This Component consisted of spatial visualization, judgment, problem-solving, questions on analogies, spatial orientation, analysis, similarities and differences, discrimination, decision-making observation, visual memory, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, arithmetic number series, figural classification, etc.
  • General Awareness: Questions are prepared for testing candidates’ general awareness regarding the environment and its Application to society. Also, this helps in testing the knowledge of current events. The test comprises Questions connected to India as well as neighboring countries. It also includes History.
  • Numerical Aptitude: Questions are prepared to test the sense of the Candidate and the Ability to use the numbers appropriately. Computation of whole numbers, fractions, Time & Work, Square roots, decimals, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Partnership Ratio & Proportion, Mixture Averages, Discount, and Allegation, Interest, Time and distance, etc.
